why does espn sportscenter keep on saying yao got a career high tonight? Wasn't his career high 41 last year against the hawks?

Cuz Espn is clueless. They hate us. I'm surprised they didn't show Yao getting blocked in slow motion.

lol. I saw sportscenter, they did say career night, not career high. Whatever career night means. It doesn't change the fact that they are clueless though.

rox scoring 100 pts, wow. i just love how our team was moving the ball to yao, it was great to watch everyone getting touches.
it looks like we are going to be in playoff picture next game.
Also can we hurry up on the marshall deal, damn he can hit the trey and penetrate. Go rox

I like this quote too, which means TMac really cares about victory. You see, when the offence is finished in movement the power of our Big duo shows. ;)

I'm glad with the victory but we really should have beat them by a landslide. The thing I noticed last night, and maybe it's because I was at the game instead of watching on tv, is that the Rox were getting their plays but just not finishing them. There were so many times last night that the right pass was made and the open man got the shot - only to brick. Wasted effort. We got great production from Yao and Tmac but we can't rely on that kind of game every night from them. Great outcome, but there is still alot of work that needs to be done.

Actually it was 21.4 ppg, 10 rpg, 2bpg for Yao in Nov. after last night's big win.

Actually Yao did not start well also in last season. He did not begin to play dominant ball until in early February which lasted 2 months. At least this season, Yao is starting much better than he did last season.

This was one of those games where it all came together. I remember watching the game, and being amazed at how much scoring was going on.

Our big guys stepped up, and it helped everyone else on the court as well. I hope this was the start of something big for our team.

This game underscores the points I've been making about this team. You make the trade for McGrady to pair up 2 guys with huge potential...and even if you don't get the supporting cast to make them champs for another 1-2 seasons...you have the hardest parts of the puzzle to acquire already in hand.

    Max,

    So true.

However, Yao has to play this way, night in and night out.

He was posting up like a madman down there...he wanted the ball.

    It was BEAUTIFUL to see.

Yao and TMac played great but I thought Howard had a good solid game.

No you saw the game correctly. Point production outside of Yao and T-MAC was terrible especially in the first half. Sura and Lue were a combined 2-13, JJ was 3-11, it was only until Juwan and MoT got untracked that the other Rox contributed. The Raptors were just too small to matchup with Yao, let him post too close to the basket, didn't defend the passing lane well, result a career night for Yao. Glad Yao had a great game but the Raptors played him soft, other teams will play him tougher and make him pass out so the rest of the Rox need to knock down their shots before we see light at the end of the tunnel.

that's right. he has to use his body aggressively. he did that very well last night, I thought. really working on getting low position. it was great.

he doesn't have to score 40 every night...but he needs to adopt the aggressiveness he had last night..if he does, those numbers will be far more frequent as he dominates lesser competition.

That was probably the thing I loved most about Yao's game last night. He was working and establishing low position a vast majority of the time. That made things so much easier to execute.

Actually, I think what made things easier was the fact the whole team looked to get him the ball early in the shot clock and they looked to get him the ball as much as possible once he was on a roll. They were almost to a point of forcing it down low to get him the ball. I think Yao has always done a pretty good job of establishing post positioning yet the guards look at him and throw it some where else thus making him work harder to get good position again. I think it was a BIG factor in his preformance that they looked to get him involved early in the shot clock BEFORE the defense could set up and the they couldn't get a player to sag behind Yao to prevent a entry pass.

then there's something wrong with your thinking. it's simply not true. i wish it were. it's not. but he did an excellent job of it last night and seemed to be calling for the ball by how well he was positioned. his play did all the talking for him. that's a BIG step in the development of Yao Ming. i, for one, am excited about it.
