BTW, if Yao can score 40 by taking 16 shots, the team and JVG probably ask him to take 50 shots next time.

we have a seasn scoring high game, we have a 40 point yao, and we have a near-triple-double t-mac, all of these leading to 7 pages of respone!

Man! Where are Rox fans hiding?

Great game! Our big 2 are on fire all through the game; Refs give yao what he deserves; we started doing some fast-break; what else can I ask for? Do it consistently.

Please tell me there's an invisible smiley I can't see in your post.

    ----

Damn, 40 points in 33 minutes; can't remember the last time something like that has happened.

    Tru...tru.

My only wish for xmas is for Yao and Tmac to play good together every game. and the refs call games fairly every game. and rockets win a championship this year. and a M5. that's it.

Yao was actually getting some bull**** calls his way tonight, I ain't complaining though. :)

they just seem like BS calls because it usually takes a wrestling move to finally get a foul called for him.

You are absolutely right. IMHO the key is that Yao is not a classical low post player. He is not that dominant when he's in a set low post game, when the defense is set and his teammates are done spacing, then he stands still and takes 2 seconds to ponder the next move. For example, in the 2nd quarter they dumped the ball to Yao in this fashion on 5 possessions, the results are:

Yao missed two shots, one turnaround and one hook shot. He got fouled but no call. He passed to Bowen who blew a layup. The only good play was him making a layup on a power move to the basket.

So five consecutive possessions and only 2 points. Yao should do what he has done in the following minutes. Get deep position and make moves without hesitation. Or hang around the basket to be in position to score easy points off passes from teammates, who didn't stand still on the perimeter but went on making plays. When there's such a big and skilled finisher like Yao around the basket, and he gets to score off plays. It will be efficient.

Give credit to the coach for this one. He finally see that with this bunch of guys, his trade-mark inside out and hard nose defense can't be played and he's adjusting to the players now. our guys strengths are in their offensive ability,as demostrated in this game. I like MO and howard's passing very much. They can utilise their length to make quality passes to Yao who can score with ease. Not sure if it's because of toronto's poor defense or that we finally find the best way to play yao, though.

Tmac created so many easy shots for others tonight, he's so natural at it.

This is the best game by far in terms of getting Yao the ball quickly and accurately. I mean, Yao was sealing off his man, people are whipping passes at his free hand, as soon as Yao gets to the spot ball arrives, and did I just see Yao point to where he like the ball to come from? I loved it.

Yeah it was the Raptors, but if we played like this all year, this board would have a sticky thread on JVG for coach of the year.
