JVG might be decided to give up Azubuike and Jacobsen. Bowen might be replaced by Padgett. I do not think Sura would be back, so the best solution is to sign another big guy and waive Bob forever.

There was a crackdown on palming the ball and shuffling feet in this game. The whistles were a joke. I sure hope the players adjust to it soon because the stoppages in play were very annoying took a lot of excitement out of the 1st half.

NBA.com has the worst highlights... NBA has buttload of money and they can't hire people to cut descent highlights? should have like 5 minutes of highlights at the least, it would encourage more people come to their site and become bigger fans.

Really it is. I wonder if that is something that can be overcome.

I am far less concerned about Lucas and Vspan than I am of this.

interesting boxscore. howard played only 12 minute.
does tat mean all the howard haters won?
or simply tat vangundy doesn't want to test his lineup with howard because he knows wht howard can bring to the table?

for those who watched the game, did howard played solely Center in the 12 minutes?

Luther Head has really improved his game. I can tell by his overall numbers. We should not trade Head because he will become a great player from bench alongside Bonzi and others. Can't believe we got him at pick #24. I want more HEAD.

He can be our resident hitman. Wait, maybe thats Deke's official job. Oh well, I'll take either one...

it just confirms my suspicion that Juhow will be the primary backup PF/C, with Novak and Hayes duking it out for any leftover minutes. hopefully, Hayes can work on his foul trouble.

As John Cheney would say, he can be our goon.

Someone said it earlier ,but I wouldn't mind seeing VSpan in the D League for a couple months. We could keep jacobsen or Sura maybe? untill we want to pull him up right? Or does VSpan count as part of the 15 even if he's in the DL?

edit: Did anyone notice Head and Snyder - Contract extensions then this game. Who else can we extend? jk

    My thoughts...

McGrady continues to look terrific. The guy is in midseason form.

Battier is...Battier - solid and exactly what you expect from him.

Head and Alston were impressive. Both will need to watch the turnovers, but both played very well and ran the offense well. If Head can manage the team at the PG spot, it would be a huge benefit to the Rockets and a big boost for Head in terms of earning minutes. Alston looks very under control.

Hayes was the victim of some tough calls. If he stays out of foul trouble tonight, he repeats the first preseason game in terms of performance.

Snyder looks very good. His outside shot is still awkward, but he can really slash and defend. With he, McGrady and Battier in there, they are LONG and really can stifle on defense.

Novak continues to shoot lights out. But, he is going to struggle on defense. He gets posted up a little too easily and just isn't strong enough to hold his man down there. But, his shot is sick.

JLIII has moments of brilliance and moments that scare the crap out of you. He just doesn't play under control yet and his shot still isn't falling. Until he can reign it in, he's not going to get consistent minutes.

V-Span really has a ways to go. The guy is still just so out of control. He's fun to watch and has fantastic court vision, but he may be a season away from really contributing.

I'm anxious to see Yao back out there and get Bonzi on the court. The Rockets top 10 are going to be solid with a LOT of options, particularly if Head can back up at one. If that is the case, you can use Alston, Head, Wells, Snyder, McGrady, Battier, Novak, Howard, Yao and Hayes with a few minutes from Deke when necessary and have a pretty formiddable group of guys out there at any given time.

Defensively, this team is going to be scary. If they can continue to play up tempo on offense, this could be a VERY good team (injuries notwithstanding).

As 3P0 just explained...its a classic example of not always judging too harshly from a simple boxscore...you wouldn't realize that lots of turnovers on both sides were caused by the refs going whistle-happy about traveling and palming (moves that were acceptable last season...but not this year.

These numbers will fall as the players learn how tightly the refs are gonna call the games.

video status...encode is starting...will post as soon as its done.
