didn't alston practice like 800 shots a day during the summer????

i sure would hate to see open jumpers missed during the regular reason.

I was watching the game through a Dallas broadcast, and i remember the announcers saying that V-Span was barking orders to his teammates on where to go in the zone. He did this when he was playing with the first team. VSpan is good, he just knows the game of basketball so well.

Battier has yet to show his shooting range. I wonder why.

I continue to be unimpressed with Alston. And we could have had Mike James. What were they thinking!? If Alston keeps missing "wide open" jumpers he will be on the bench before the All Star break if not sooner, or least he should be. I am pulling for VSpan to take his starting role, the team already seems to run smoother when Alston is out.

It's a preseason game. Novak didn't shoot all that well either statistically. He was hitting jumpers during the other two games and just had a bad game. You're just like those people who said we need to cut vspan after the first two games. Just be patient and wait before you rush to judgement. Alston was pretty damn good during the first two games so there's no reason to just jump all over him after 1 bad game

5 shots is definitely a big enough sample to prove once and for all that Alston can't shoot.

You guys must have advanced degrees in statistics.

Good game.. the back ups seem to be gettin gmore comfortable with each other and are starting to score more. Tough defense from V-Span and quite possible the best shooting from Novak. That guy is the best shooter I have seen in a long time, perfect shot.

Yao needs some wind. lol... :D

Relax everyone...don't get an ulcer......the backups are getting great court time that will translate into the season

and for all who keep sayin v-span did it against the scrubs.....that has ABSOLUTELY ZERO to do with him having awesome court vision, and playing pesky "in your chest" defense.........it don't matter whos playing he still has these great tools that i am so glad we have........the guy absolutly sees all 5 players on the court on offense and has great passes that no one else on this team can make...give him time to get rid of his "JET LAG" and houston we have a player

no-vak......i think its all been said....his jumpers are LAYUPS, the sickest shot i've ever seen, including reggie, bird, etc..........he does not miss if open.......its almost scary.........and he does hustle......not a beast on D, but the guys is very active........i like it...with that shot he will be on the court........GUARANTEED

Beating Dallas is always good, no matter what time of year it is. I had to watch the game on a Mavs broadcast which I didnt like but at least I got to see the game. I had to sit there and listen to the Mav's announcers making fun of Azubuike's name.

As for the game, Head, Novak and Vspan really impressed me. I also liked Snyder's dunk over Ebi. The Rockets do need to work on their free throw shooting though.

It is the first game Yao played for Houston Rockets in 06-07 season. It is not bad. Yao is not in good form but I believe he will be powerful when the regular season begins.

    Go Go Rockets

WTH? One bad game in preseason, and you crucify him? Coincidentally, this is VSpan's first good game, and you think he should take the starting PG position????

We had a "season" sample of Alston's shooting last year, similar results. He hits every once and awhile like the first two preseason games, but the shots he missed tonight were like the ones he missed time and time again last season. The team is behind and at a critical juncture of the game and he has a wide open shot, clang. His shooting must improve this year or I sit him. ;)

I like Alston as a point guard, and I hope he'll play well this season.

EDIT: at the same time, i think spanoulis might become our starting point guard
