Good Karma, we totally ruled during last year's preseason, but sucked major time when the real season started.

All this means is that their scrubs are better than our scrubs. :)

Come on... they looked like a bunch of guys who've never played together, and have had a ****load of new stuff thrown at them by Gundy. It's all groovy, people.

(now, if they were to keep playing like this, pull out the knives, lol! they won't)

No. Bonzi, Luther, and Howard didn't play either. Azubuike and Haryasz played most of the 4th quarter, and Battier left in the middle of the third and didn't return.

Why are people overreacting to a meaningless preseason loss?..

Big difference when Yao is on the back line backing up Battier.

Lucas is good. He just had a bad shooting game.

    My impressions:

McGrady: TMac is BACK!!! I don't know what more you can say about him but we saw glimpses of a serious MVP candidate.

Battier: Once this preseason is over, we will forget who Rudy Gay is. This guy is the real deal. I loved the draft day trade and I like it even more now that I see him in a Rocket's jersey. He is going to be the get that pulls this team together for a big run.

Alston: Didn't really do much but that may be exactly what we need him to do. If we do not notice him, he is doing his job.

Snyder: Looked impressive when playing with the starters but you can clearly see he isn't aguy you can ask to carry any kind of scoring load. He'll be a good player off the bench and will get his numbers playing off of the other guys especially gettingout and running. I thought he showed some decent defense as well

Hayes: Hayes was Hayes. Hustle, rebounding and good team and positional defense.

Novak: This guy is as good or better than advertised. I agree with Bullard, he needs to get as many shots as possible in his time on the floor.

Lucas: Eh. We know he can do some things but he wasn't too impressive tonight.

Spanoulis: This guy impressed me a lot! He made his mistakes but he ran the office pretty well, ran the pick and roll pretty good and I was impressed with his on-the-ball premimeter defense. He is a pest. The more comfortable he gets with the league, the system and his teammates; he's going to be a hell of a player.

Defense looked freaking great and the offense looked much improved with the quicker pace, more ball-movement and (of course) more talent. I think we have a lot to look forward to after tonights game and we didn't get to see Bonzi and Yao.

Most of the 2nd half minutes went to guys with non-guaranteed deals. Not only were TMac and Yao not playing... guys like Battier, Hayes, Juwan, Head, Mutombo, Alston, Wells, Snyder (pretty much anyone who is expected to get regular rotation minutes) either didn't play or played very few minutes.

The 2nd half was for the purpose of evaluating potential cuts, so we got young Spanoulis and Head out there running with all the guys who may not make the team.

I think he got the order from above to be less gloomy in the press and kinda resents it... he's making fun of the "new personality" thing every time he gets a chance to do it.

Makes me feel good about the season:

The fact that so many come into this thread in a panic after one game where the starters averaged 19 minutes each and two of our best players didn't play.

    Makes me REALLY nervous:

DaDakota predicts V-Span will be our point guard of the future. Let's not saddle the guy with the DD jinx so early in his career. :D

Another thing i believe guys like hayes and Vspan bring the heart and hustle we need in the game.
    I really really Love V-span.

You mean Lucas. Head did not play at all.

Looks like Spanoulis and Novak are locks to make it. Haryasz, Jacobsen, Azubuike and Padgett still have a lot to prove (especially Azubuike. He made the same turnover mistake twice. And I'm sure JVG noticed.)

TMac looked ridiculous. The guy looks in midseason form.
