James Thomas has always been a good rebounder, but that's basically all he really brings to the table.

He's a decent defender and can get some put backs on offense but he's not an NBA caliber player in those areas. He has decent size but nothing special. He's 6'8" 235 or so. He also has a bad back. He wouldn't be a horrible guy to have on the bench, but he is definitely NOT the answer for our problems at the 4.

TMac should speak up, but he (or his agent or something) is probably telling him not to, because of last year's fiasco. But he should. I have kept my silence about Gundy but I think he needs to step down, now.

Very good point! The opposition is ONLY concentrating on stopping ONE guy from rebounding. They have NO respect for the others to care.

DNP's don't affect your stats. (unless your trying to break a consecutive game played streak)

    Doesn't a DNP-CD count against your average?

I haven't seen one iota of change in the way he gameplans. Coaches all around the NBA have JVG's playbook. He has 1 or 2 plays. That's it. If those plays don't work, it's chaos out there.

Totally agree. As long as we keep McGrady and Yao together for the next several years, we'll break through. What would be completely wrong would be to get rid of either one of them. With solid role players who can give you 10-14 points a night consistently, this team WILL take off.

    One thought.

Has the team turned a deaf ear to JVG, and given up on him?

If he has lost the team already, he must go.

Gotta love it. NBA should use that in an ad.

I think JVG is a good coach, but if this is true (which it seems as of late) then I agree that this needs to be at least explored.

I agree. Zone defense allows the big man to stay in the paint. The only compromise is that teams will get open shots. I think that's a risk you have to take with today's NBA. This group of players is just not athletic enough to rotate quickly and then get back in position to rebound. Play the old man defense. Play zone D.

I don't believe so. They are still playing like they are scared of getting in trouble from him for making a mistake.

I would love it if Tmac turned a deaf ear to JVG, and tried to take over the game on his own, and really use his talent. That would have at least showed some fire and initiative. Had it worked it might have jolted JVG into working around what worked.

    I don't think it is JVG's problem

This is CD's problem. but of course JVG signed off it.

Houston Rox basically has been renamed as Houston Magic after the SF-T-mac trade.

I can easily see Kobe doing that but I doubt that T-mac has it in him to openly defy JVG.
