you are right, it's not always Lin. but it's not always LOF's that's complaining. it's a mixed bag of ppl finding it odd that he benched Lin and gave a pathetic excuse for it. if he wanted to save his players for a game 2 days from now, he'd say that, but he didn't. and he didn't limit Harden's minutes either.

 

Exactly, he got that "deer in the headlight look", and replied like with TD didn't play at all in the Memphis game to justify his actions.

 

Chill the ***** out dude, it's one game. It remains to be seen what he does, stop being so reactionary, Jesus. Maybe he wants to boost TD's confidence, whatever, for now it means nothing, just wait at least.

 

Calm down or not. You tell me how that reason was not being a diss to Jeremy. If you give me a legitimate reason, then I will let it go.

Jeremy too nice of a kid. He needs to confront Sampson about that.

 

I understand ppl find it an insult to compare TD to Lin..well to any pg i think,but i dont think it matters much in a matchup against a weak opponent

 

It's not disrespectful at all.

If it was how he felt than it was how he felt about it.

It's funny that everyone praises him for being frank about Patterson but when he does so about Lin then people flip out.

If Lin is the player I think he is that will only motivate him and if so then Sampson is smarter than you give him credit for.

I thought coach Sampson did a decent job, a lot of WTF? subs but I liked that he was trying out all kinds of lineups. (LOL@him benching PPat for being so damn soft and not getting rebounds)
Needless to say the most successful lineup was the one with Jeremy actually playing point guard rather than giving up the ball early on just to go be forgotten in the corner.
Keep in mind that we were actually struggling with the worst team in the NBA (at some point I thought we might actually lose and was ready to go cry myself to sleep) until they had Jeremy run the offense. We got to see shades of Linsanity, and even James' shots started going in, probably from not having to worry about playing point guard.
Coaching staff needs to end the "durr, let's switch James' and Lin's positions!" experiment. Quite frankly I'd like to smack whoever came up with that idea in the first place.

Durvasa already said why Sampson thought that. In fact, he was nice enough to give you the data for it, the Rockets outscored Pistons when Lin sat down and TD played, so TD got the extra minutes. You can't deny the facts, that's exactly what happened, and any coach would keep the Douglas in for a longer time because the Rox went on a run that time. Even the +/- reflects this, Lin was only +3 while Douglas was +13. These are all facts, and things you cannot argue against.

Why are you so butthurt and throwing the racism card around over this? I'm Asian as well and I can't understand why you're overreacting. The Rockets have already played 6 games and Lin has played quite a lot (too much IMHO) of PT in 5 of them. If Kelvin Sampson really detests Lin, then he'll put him in the inactive spot and start TD, have Machado come off the bench. Who started? Lin! Who played the most mins at the pg spot? Lin! And yet Sampson hates Lin and doesn't want to see him develop or succeed. LOL wtf?

Also, Asik played only 2 mins more than Lin. Where the the AOF starting threads about how Sampson hates them Turks?

well we can agree to disagree. However, i bet you, same **** will happen the next game especially if Sampson is still the coach. I guarantee Jeremy will play less than 30 minutes.

For me, I think it is just an extension of the fact that this coaching staff doesn't have much respect for Jeremy's game. He is not some scrub they picked up off the waiver wire any more. Morey and Les paid a lot of money to get him because they believe in him.

A lot of people have been observing that Jeremy has not yet been used efficiently as the primary ball handler and this quote today is prime example of the distrust the coaching has in him.

Just face it. and don't give me this BS about using this as a motivation. No other organization would they disrepect their star player as openly as Sampson did tonight. NONE

 

Harden isn't recovering from knee surgery. Period.

 

Pop did it to Tony Parker all the time. Parker even got benched for Speedy Claxton in the Finals.

 

As a big Lin fan like me, I tell you what, you are SOOOOO DUMP.

 

Believe me, I did feel recently that the coaching staff might not have put enough trust in Lin as they should. However, what you're saying is almost just paranoia at this point anyways.

 

he'd be stupid not to bench PPat who was getting out-rebounded by our own point guard TWICE. as a PF you can't be camping outside all day. on the other hand, Lin did exactly what a point guard was suppose to do, plus he was shutting Knight down. you don't bench your point guard for missing a few shots or trying to limit his minutes for a game 2 days from now while not doing the same to your best player.. Harden.

 

TD sucks. I can't see how anyone would give him burn. I'd rather go with Delfino Parsons or Harden bringing up the ball then have TD running around like a chicken without a head. He made a few baskets. Big deal. Prior to this, he had two field goals. TWO. Oh, and six, countem, SIX assists. How that makes him a better matchup with anyone is beyond me. Ten minutes tops. Thats how much he should be playing.

 

If Lin is this kind of person, he is not the Jeremy Lin that we loved. Now, please calm down and watch the next game and see how it goes. Please....
