I don't think MJ should be our starter. He doesn't know how to pass the ball and play some team basketball. Alston was pretty solid in these two games.

yeah, when Batistie is their starting center and Jasikevicius is the highest paid dude on that roster, that team is inferior and I dont care if it is the best in Europe.

However in game 1, our starters vs hornets' starters, we beat crap out of them. We had so many ways to score, and they were limited keep jacking up long range shots. Our defense(1st unit) was also a lot better than hornets, thanks to JVG.

He can play team basketball but Alston just looks like a better floor general who runs the transition offense better than anyone else on this team. Plus he just doesn't make too many mistakes. If you can limit his bad 3 point attempts and stupid teardrops, he should be ok.

Man I was so ready to say goodbye to Rafer but he has looked great.

Morey is going to have a hellish time deciding who to cut.

Thanks for the summary. Do you think that Snyder should be kept or cut? Why is Brooks having so much trouble right now with his shooting?Did you see anything positive from him or not.

Sorry to hijack the question but Brooks plained decent but did nothing spectacular. No diss towards his game but he just seemed nervous and was definitely trying too hard out there. I did see speed though but I can safely say JLIII outplayed him probably due to his slight edge in experience.

I tend to agree that the majority of the board was ready to wave goodbye to Alston before these preseason games. I'm so relieved a trade did not come to fruition because I'm loving the way Rafer is playing. In fact, I feel more comfortable with him running the point than either Stevie or MJ.

You're right, Coach A and Morey have a lot of thinking to do...

As for Snyder, he had no conscious tonight. He got in late in the game and was taking every shot he could manage. He also seemed to be taking advantage of the smaller, weaker, slower guys under the basket. By the way, how sad is it when Kirk Snyder can post up your whole team? He had a few nice fakes under the basket that showed patience and follow through, but he took some bad shots too. Honestly, he looked like he was desperately trying to stay on this team. He didn't do too bad in that regard. I'd have a very hard time choosing Harris over Snyder if neither of them were guaranteed, but Snyder is guaranteed and will probably win that out. Harris may not even be a better player than Snyder, but I will admit that I tend to favor the shiny new toy. Harris is new and I love his game. I must also admit that I was even more excited when we acquired Snyder. I thought then that he had starter potential, and he basically proved that true before his injury last year. He sure as hell can't come close to starting on this team. With that said, I don't think Harris has starter potential. I just really like the guy.

As for Brooks, he was taking loooooong shots because it was his only option. The Greeks were thrilled to see a guy that was smaller than them on the court and they played relatively good d on him despite Brooks quickness advantage. The highlight of the night for Brooks was a one man fast break layup. He was so much faster than everyone on the floor that I don't think anyone was within 15-20 feet of him when he laid it in. I'll also say that even with his mistakes, he was fun to watch on the floor. He, of course, is lightning quick. That said, he didn't play very well at all tonight and, like I said, he had difficulty getting shots up - think John Lucas III. I still haven't given up on Brooks though. I think there is promise there, but again, I'm nearly as big of a sucker for youth and potential as DaDakota. :D

It's really going to annoy me if we cut Harris and keep Landry and Snyder. We should have never signed Landry with a team as deep as we have and kept his rights for later.

POS picture from the game taken off my phone.

If you are going to the big ol first home game, this is the section we are sitting at. I think one section to the left though.

One thing is clear: the Rockets are loaded with talent. They can come at you so many different ways. Scola's motor never stops running, he is going to make a HUGE difference. Rafer is looking great, as is James and Francis. It's early, but, Yao and TMac are going to be able to put it on cruise control for the first time since they have been here. Just deliver solid games without huge minutes. Instead of working themselves silly and getting all beat up they actually have a supporting cast they can depend on. The guards are going to put up 30 to 50 points a night between them. Some nights Francis or James will explode for 30 or more. Scola looks like a solid 15-6-2. The bench is the best in years. This team is probably going to average 100 plus points a game. By the playoffs the Rockets are going to be hard to beat in a seven game series.

Anyone know the exact reason for Bonzi playing little minutes? Was it because he knows the system so well and the plays etc, or becuase he got a technical? Speaking of Bonzi, did anyone else gasp in amazement when
T-mac perfectly placed that no look pass to Bonzi on the backdoor cut, leading to an easy dunk? That much talent in Bonzi, and hes a bench player, that shows the depth in this team. Also, Snyder musn't have played too badly, his points were greater than the number of minutes he played, and he played very little minutes. One more question, NBA.com says T-mac had a bad knee, but this website seems to think he just didn't want to play, which is fair enough, just wondering. Thanks

I am glad you guys are slowly coming around to believe that Skip is better for us than MJ. Rafer's skill was never suited for Van Gundy's game and I knew given the freedom to roam he'll prosper.
