We get the W. Afterwards game thread devolves into fake LOH's and fake LOF's trying to troll each other.

    updated from ESPN:
Granger, who has missed most of the season with patellar tendinitis in his left knee, and Hill (strained left groin) are more likely to miss at least one more game.

I totally erased the memory of first time match-up. god, we were in middle of that horrid stretch.
It helps they're not healthy. Gotta take advantage.

haha nice one...let's hope all those pacers stay injured, winning the first 2 of this 4 game stretch would be huge...playoffs is all about getting hot at the right time and we may be doing that...lets also hope denver peaked too soon especially if we have to face them...not saying the grizz or clips would be easy match-ups, but i think it's safe to say they both peaked too early this season

Key as always is try to control the pace. we'll have a hard time beating them in half court .

I don't have too much time to explain everything so I'll do my best to explain it briefly.

First is offense. They are a dominant paint / post play team. Most of their shots comes from the restricted zone. One of our weakest match-ups is our post defense vs. other teams post offense. We saw this many times in Clippers, Jazz, and GSW against us. The big man almost always does whatever they want. Look at who Delfino is matched up with.

But their offense isn't our biggest problem. Their defense is what's really scary.

We already know that these guys are huge. But that's not why their defense is scary. It's the way they cooperate and rotate that makes them so dominant.

One would think that because these guys are big that PnR would be ideal, but as seen in most games PnR are usually shut down. What happens is that they know West is usually going to get beat, so West's job is to blitz the opposing guards to throw them off course or to force them to drive. West tries to initiate some kind of contact most of the time doing this, and Hibbert at the back will always be there to help guard. Hibbert is just so good at guarding the paint while staying with his man. And because these guys are so lengthy, there's always going to be someone from behind reaching out to do a rear challenge. So whoever drives in is going to get challenged from the front from Hibbert, and from the back by whoever is driven into. Add help defense in the mix, and the paint will net you a very low% shot.

The next thing is their 3pt defense. I mean, there's really not much to say to this after I explain how they defend the PnR. Basically they guard tight not really caring if they get beat off a drive or not. They know Hibbert is going to be there and they can catch for a rear defense. So that's why their allowed 3pt attempts are so low.

The 2 offensive game Rockets thrive at are both pretty shut down. The one big thing going for the Rockets are drawing fouls. I honestly think this is the key of the game. Get Hibbert in foul trouble and we could potentially see a big collapse in their structure. The reason they are so damn strong is mostly because Hibbert is so damn good at protecting the paint WHILE staying with his man and rotating. So all the other big guys don't care much if they get beat in a drive. It also allows the speedier West to blitz the opposing guards as much as he wants. If we have a mid-range pop and shoot game, then that could also help us tremendously because we can beat the man without going into the paint.

That's all the time I have to explain. If anyone wants to add to this, feel free.

What? Why you have to Asik? UnBeverleyble.

What he did there was very clever, but also clear as day. Delphinotely not worthy of Asiking again.
