Martin Better start! I don't want to see Battriza starting anymore! Plus Adelman said he will be starting.

    Maybe, maybe no?

Caron Butler and Jamison had horribly debut games for their new teams. I don't know about the other traded players.

What happens with KevMart, who knows? What's predictable on this board is the reaction if he does have a bad game :)

It was different for Butler and Jamison because they had to adjust to a new system. Martin already knows Adelman's system. Also, he is a pure scorer, unlike Butler or Jamison, and a great scorer always knows how to score no matter what. That being said, the only thing that might concern me is the chemistry, but Martin doesn't seem like the kind of guy who has an ego and Adelman knows how do handle it! Mike Brown and Rick Carlisle aren't exacty Rick Adelman, just to let you know.

    Im guessing starting five is:

    Brooks
    Martin
    Ariza
    Battier
    Scola

no offense on Hayes but he is the most expendable starter. The starting 5 needs a change and hope it is for the better.

    Second Unit

It goes from most efficient scorers to a confusing mess - is Budinger the first option here? This could be scary as this unit has limited paint defense as well

    Lowry/Budinger/Battier/???/Andersen

^ Probably Jeffries. He can defend almost every position decently.

Tyrus Thomas and Salmons did great.

Maybe it is a Wizard thing.

Kevin Martin doesn't really need to adjust to a new system like Butler or Jamison did. Martin already played in Adelman's system and has experience in it firsthand. Also, Adelman is a great situational coach unlike Mike Brown or Rick Carlisle.

but it does take time to adjust to players on the court. the way they move.. etc.. will take some time to gel..

btw. Ariza goes back to role player? I dunno how he is gonna take it

He knows that it comes with the job. Ariza doesn't seem like the type of guy that is a headcase and will tell everyone to **** off or something. Ariza's game will drastically improve and he will know that it is better for the team's success also.

    Yep.

Ariza should have known it was only a matter of time, I mean he knew Yao was on the team.

This should really improve his game. Ariza wants to be a star player, and HE HAS that potential. Just not a scoring star player...like a Tayshaun Prince type of guy...or a Marion type of guy. He can score the ball, but you shouldn't rely on him scoring. I think this makes it better for him to showcase his real talent. Energy, passing lanes, defense, etc...

If its about balance, not so much ability, could go

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Budinger
    Ariza/Battier/
    Scola/Hayes
    Armstrong/Andersen

Hayes gives the paint defense. That 2nd unit would already have chemistry together. Hayes is better than Armstrong. Just for front court balance.

    Or you can go

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Budinger
    Battier/Ariza
    Scola/Hill
    Hayes/Andersen

Would have a little more offense-minded players on the 2nd team.

Would agree. Especially for future development purposes.

Post All-Star, I tend to think Ariza will be more efficient here on out. Which would justify him starting... KNOCK on wood, Ariza's last handful of games has been decent. Right at his career average and where he should stay here on out (hopefully)
