yes, i have noticed yao plays very mechanical now instead of playing with his instincts like he did in his first year or two. it's almost like all his moves are the same and so predictable. use your instincts big man!!

at least we're still in this game at half time !

No, actually I think that you need to go to see a psychologist for your aggressively overobsession with anything Yao does on the court.

Yao already had 3 TOs? Is he gonna have 6 TOs for the game? That will cost Rockets too much.

    One word for Yao:

    Slumpbuster.

    Many devoted fans.

    One deed.

Man, you know, we have to find something positive everyday especially on game day. ;)

Serously, Rockets is better this season IMO, since I never worry too much about this team when trailling within 15pts in the first half than last year.

As long as he doesn't get called for anymore offensive fouls the turnovers will not be so bad

I don't think he's a guy who can brute his way into shots. I'd like to see Yao attempt a few more of those shots from the perimeter. If Yao hits them at a decent clip, I contend that JVG would be a fool not to go to that as a play.

I've always contended that there are genetics and culture involved in Yao not fitting in the role of the bruiser who gets points by strength. The dude is not Shaq. He never said he wanted to be like Shaq in pre-draft camp. He specifically said Sabonis. Sabonis was a center who could do everything. JVG has a vision of a center, and Sabonis-like centers are not in that vision.

Yao should go back to what gave him joy before the draft. It certainly isn't continually banging down low all the time.

Actually he had a solid 2rd quarter: scoring 8 points on 3-4 shooting including 2 outside jumpers, grabbing 3 boards, and blocking one shot, with no TO.

So true. If we could come back from 10 pts down to a win in the last minute, why should we worry about trailing.

Agree. Finally, I can watch a Rockets game. A collision in the paint, as the commentator said, call it either on Yao or O'Neal. They don't have the guts call that on Yao's third, why not just call it offensive foul on O'Neal!

According to your logic, yao will have negative TOs in the 3rd and 4th? How can that happen? As far as I know, yao cannot steal.

In some respects, Dunleavy at Portland coaching Jermaine is similar to JVG in Houston coaching Yao. Both guys had immense pressures to win now. Player development was an afterthought. After Jermaine got traded to Indiana, he was put in a low pressure rebuilding situation with Isiah as the coach.

In my opinion, Yao will not develop fully under JVG because JVG will always feel pressured to win now and not work through Yao's mistakes.

strictly by numbers, Yao also has 2 stls, which cancel out 2 TOs. ;)
