    Battier has never been able to guard Melo , no shock , but they need to help em out in the post

    Uhh... you need players to drive/cut to see that effect.

    Right now, he's trying to work a pick and roll with Hayes and Battier... not exactly the most athletic of cutting players.

    No he's not. He's staying in front of him and contesting everything. Melo is in love with his mid-range pull up jumper. There's nothing you can do if you're contesting a shot and the guy still makes it.

    Battier is not contesting his jump shot , he was giving him a lot of room. He stays in front yea but not all up on em.

    You gotta penetrate vs Denver. They'll let you get any layup you want as long as you get it down there.

    mutombo's blocked shot IQ is so far off the charts it's amazing. i mean he just watched kmart make that move and just calmly waited, knowing martin wouldn't be able to explode up with the shot, until he released it low and just went up and swatted it. his understanding of how to block shots is incredible.

    him, hakeem and eddie griffin (yeah, eddie griffin) are the best 3 i've seen with the rockets in terms of understanding the block.
