I remember seeing quite a few plays in which Harden and Lin were on the opposite sides of the court, separated by a hockey pass or a cross-court pass. That pretty much neutralizes whatever defensive pressure Lin can take off of Harden. In that position, Lin is just reduced to a spot up shooter, and leaves Harden more easily double teamed. It didn't look like this in the first two games. So, after more practice and more sets, the spacing has gotten worse. What up?

So I keep thinking 'whatta hell did they practice those 3 days off?' ...and it just dawned on me, they were actually too busy game planning for Miami they completely ignored the 3 games before it

In other words be ready for a STATEMENT WIN against the Heat

But seriously, all hopeful wishing aside, I seriously feel confident this team will "click" sooner than we think. Watching their postgame interviews, they certainly seem aware of the mistakes they made today and there's no reason why they won't be able to fix it. After today's embarrassing effort, I expect them to come with a lot more fire next game.

Lin dropped some incredible dimes last season. By the dozens. JJ, Landry, and Ty were catching lobs in perfect stride for a slew of easy buckets.

Lin has to be free to create. He's an aggressive creator on offense, both as a passer and as a scorer.

McHale's lack of creativity in exploiting the basketball IQ of harden and lin and their ability to create is almost criminal.

I hate to say it, but I am terribly unimpressed with mchale.

Don't expect haters like Gil to be objective, they aren't capable of it. His only reason for being on these forums is to dump on Lin every chance he get's whether it's merited or not. Logic or reality makes no difference to him. He is a troll.

We went from 20+ assists and 40+ rebounds a game to less than that in those categories, plus shoot around 35% = 2 game losing streak. Add to misery is they shoot 33 three-pointers, making only 8. Quantity does not equal to quality, with exception to Delfino, the other players should not have green light to shoot 3s. These are correctable, hopefully they go back to basic, in and out.

Bah! Joey Crawford drives me crazy. If I had a dollar for every foul not called on the Rockets last night, I could have a nice meal at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. OK, maybe Dan's Hamburgers, but there were a lot of obvious fouls not called. Putting that aside, I think the minutes and the youth of our guys has caught up with them. That, and we could use a backup point guard, along with Smith off the bench for Asik.

    Argh! Frustrating game was frustrating!

even though there's some controversial call through out the game, had to admit that we played awful and don't deserve to win at all

Wow.... Just watched the 4th quarter right now. Patterson shooting threes and playing center. Get the **** out. I'm not interested in watching rockets ball right now. I feel bad for Harden. They expect him to do everything.

Pat actually looks good taking the corner three. I don't mind him incorporating that into his game.

We were right in it to the end, even though we weren't hitting our shots. The defense in the early 3rd quarter kept us in it. Team still needs alot of work, especially our jumpshots, ball movement, and spacing among other things, no one has been very consistent hitting their shots. The only good thing is these losses haven't been blow out win, we had chances to win, however that might change when we play the Heat if we continue to shoot like this.

Whats saddening is that this team has a lot of potential...at least to compete daily...and in the end ...let the chips fall where they may...but...it was so disheartening to see that after 3 days off...the offense looked stagnant...

    Possible solutions:
    1. Make Jeremy Lin the primary playmaker down the stretch...and have Harden either go towards the block and try working from the low post...

    2. Instead of James Harden Toney Douglas combo...try the Lin, Toney Douglas combo...have TD just work on shutting down the opposing guard...and have Lin set him up for 3 point shots on the offensive end...

    3. Have to create spacing by having a legit PF on the blocks...Put DMo on the blocks, heck put Jones on the block...and let them operate...by doing so...Omer can solely work on trying to get offensive rebounds and tip ins...

Bottom line: The execution in these games...seems eerily familiar to games last year down the stretch...go back and watch some of those games...lack of proper coaching had cost the Rockets a chance at getting in the playoffs last year...McHale wants players to keep moving, but his play calls and play selection makes is near impossible for players not to fall into isolation plays...and that is just bad basketball...

I don't know if you are already aware of the fact that during practicing any skill sometimes you get worse at whatever it is that you are practicing...

The learning curve has some down periods that may be there nothwitstanding the effort invested...on contrary, the very effort may negatively influence the learning curve....

    It goes something like this
    [IMG]

to cut the long story short, go google 'learning curve'...or perhaps its better simply to imagine young birds flying for the first time from the nest... they first must go down a bit in order to fly up....

Manny Pacquiao is a big Lin supporter. I wouldn't feel surprised he was there.
