Seriously, what are you on? Yao hits the midrange J at a pretty good clip, T-Mac can't even see 50% on 30 foot shots. How is this even a comparison? Terrible analogy.

exactly. our stars should get less shots. they should not have to do a lot considering the depth that we have. we want them to be fresh down the stretch where yao can be the clutch player we saw v. the spurs or tmac v. the bobcats.

tmac shouldn't have to average 6 assists (we have other playmakers--should be). yao shouldn't have to play 37 minutes a game. eventually, they won't as our role players will improve.

Yao should stay on the court as long as possible. If that costs his pts per game, let's live with it. His being on the court is more important than those two points.

Oh really? 1/5 on WIDE OPEN JUMPERS is a good percentage? Hell I might make 1/5 on wide open jumpers from 18 feet. The shot is also a bad shot which puts no pressure on the defense and bails them out from having to play any defense, just like a 30 foot pull-up jumper. Yao's midrange shooting ability is just not very good, as JVG said yesterday. His 10 foot turnaround jumper is automatic. 13-14 feet, tough shot for him. 16-18 feet... forget it. He's shown this season even when he's wide open he can't make that 16-18 foot shot.

tmac should get those assists as long as it improves the team fg%. He has more talents than just scoring.

I'll take the win without a complaint.

RA needs to erase the 4th quarter meltdowns and lack of defensive stops plus improve the team's ability to close out games. Scola is a starter but serves the Rockets better by coming off the bench to give it some scoring punch.

but that means he has to work more (drive more/run the pick and roll...). steve showed he can take off that burden a lil bit.

tmac can do that, hell he can do anything he wants. but why should he have to do that when we have a few other capable players?

it's like if hayes can guard other big men, why let yao do it? yao can guard most of them, but why waste his energy?

TMAC should touch the ball more. He has the talent in making plays, while his talent in scoring is going down each year.
so, you are a "do know jack"? TMAC was taking too many shots in the last two lost games when he was not hot. Is it too hard for you to swallow the fact?

He was putting up 27/10/2/2 before the injury (I'm ignoring the game he got injured where he played 6 minutes), won player of the month for November, had inarguably become the best center in the NBA, was becoming if not already a dominant player, and was getting early mention as an MVP candidate.

Sadly, then Tim Thomas/Chuck Hayes broke his knee, and the rest is history. :(

Yao may very well have peaked before that injury, especially if Adelman stays around. Again, Adelman said that he envisions Yao as a Vlade Divac. I can't say how much that riles me up and makes me want to go and rip his head off.

REALLY, he led the league in scoring before he got injured. he put up 2 40+ pt games in half a month already.

u think his scoring has declined b/c he has spent so much time creating. don't let JVG fool you.

but hell, i don't want him to score a lot on this team either. we need to be like the spurs. our stars should only play over 35 mins when we play the elite teams, and play 30 mins when we play the rest. that's when u know u got depth.

Well, steve can definitely help. Is steve going to as good as TMAC in making plays? Not even close.

You argument is based on the assumption that Hayes can guard other team's big man. Unfortunately, that's not a fact. TMac is the best play maker in this ROX team and it is a fact.

Finally, a good effort by the Rockets. The Nuggets were absolutely horrible (but so were the Bobcats and we barely beat them) and TMac got hot. What I don't know is if TMac missed his first few jumpers if we would have gotten such a big lead in the first quarter. If we live by the jumper, we will almost certainly die by the jumper.

Yao was solid and actually dominated when he got the ball down low. On defense, he was solid except for a few sequences where his slowness cost us a few buckets. The sequence when Najara got the offensive rebound was just embarassing. Yao has to box out and grab those.

Hayes was actually an offensive force to start but he badly needs to work on his FTs and non-existant shooting. He guarded Camby most of the game and did a pretty good job.

Battier played pretty good defense on Anthony, but I think we were somewhat lucky to have Anthony start 0/5. He got a lot of boards but didn't shoot well again.

TMac was on fire. He mixed up his jumper with drives and seemed more aggresive tonight. I'm always worried when he makes the first few since he keeps firing away.

Alston was, well, Alston. One sequence when he got the ball handed to him by Yao and was open by at least 7 feet shows why he horrible. No one even ran out to challenge him. They were expecting a bad miss and they got it.

Scola was great on the offensive boards but seem lost on defense. He blew a few assignments and we were lucky that the Nuggets usually didn't take advantage of those mistakes. He played with great heart especially on the sequence leading up to the flagrant foul on Camby. Nevertheless, he played with heart and didn't commit his usual share of boneheaded fouls.

Francis was fantastic. He provided energy off the bench and was clearly an upgrade over Head. His three point shooting (in fact the whole team's three point shooting) was off and I question whether he should be chucking those up. Nevertheless, he was diving on the floor, getting steals, blocking shots (even though the refs blew at least two calls), driving and putting pressure on the defense. I still don't understand why he was glued to the bench. His only major foulup was when he turned the ball over against Denver's press. I don't understand why we don't punish team who press and trap by attacking quickly and eventually playing a two on one at the basket. We seem to want to wait and get trapped. Seems pretty stupid to me.

James probably chucked too much but at least he attacked the basket on occasion.

Head basically did nothing, but that's better than having him turn the ball over time and time again.

I really like the way Carl Landry played in garbage time. He could be a Chuck Hayes but with a jumper and a nasty dunk.

I hope Adelman learned something from this game concerning the lineups. If not, we really need to get rid of him.

In summary, the Nuggets made us look great and TMac's jumpers were falling. The Nuggets aren't always going to blow open shots and TMac's jumper *often* fails him so I wouldn't count on this in the future. Francis played only 20 minutes but he had way more positive impact for the Rockets than any point guard in any game this season. Let's hope we see more of *this* Steve Francis in the future.

If you believes Tracy can still score as many as he wants (with a decent fg%), well, I can only wish you would be right because Tracy seems to have the same thought himself. Good luck to ROX and enjoy the TMAC.
