Rafer, James, and Head (do I even have to mention HEad?) can't stay with Allen Iverson AT ALL.. David Wesley used to own him every time we played the sixers, ah, good ol' days.. :( .. I think the only guy capable of staying with AI is Brooks because of his great quickness, but he is a liability on offense.. so I don't know.. I am pretty sure that a motivated Franchise would kill AI (notice I said motivated)..

anyways, I think if Rafer starts and Head sees ANY action, we have absolutely no chance of winning unless we outscore them (which means Mac has to go off for like 50), because the Nuggets are a high scoring, high flying team.. so it's gonna be tough..

    with the current lineup:

    115 Nuggets
    102 Rockets

    Reasons we can beat Denver

    1) Denver defense sucks .
    2) Dever is also back to back, and they are a fast tempo team.
    3) Scola plays Nene well.
    4) Battier can stop Melo.
    5) Yao is not fatigued because last game he was fouled out.
    6) Tmac can outplay Iverson.

The outcome will be determined by which McGrady shows up, (1) the one earlier in the season that was dominant, making shots, going to the rim, or (2) this post injury McGrady that is playing like a wimp right now.

McGrady cries after every first round playoff exit, then lets his team start out 6-7 the next season. That's disappointing.

Scola is a lead guy/supporting actor. He seems to thrive when he can get involved emotionally with whats going on, when he's communicating with teammates, talking up the gameplans, having a "leader" type presence. He hasn't complained a bit and tried very hard at it to his credit, but when he's a bit role player it reduces him slightly to where he gets mechanical and deliberate with his actions.

Steve is capable of 12-15 points in 32 minutes. Bonzi would only be good if he allowed McGrady to move to the 3 on offense. Otherwise his role is good how it is.
All other other examples not so much. The overall scoring can increase a tad with Scola but the shot ATTEMPTS will stay about the same (unless they cause more turnovers or get more offensive boards). If one person gets more shot attempts it takes away from another person. When Scola got his against the heat, it took a few shots from Yao.

But thats still what you need, agreed. This team isnt as good on D as it used to so I think they need to try getting hot starts on offense and stop playing catch-up.

    1) denvers D is in the top half when adjusted for pace (in fact i think top 5)

    3) nene isnt even playing (do you watch other teams?)

    4) battier can stop melo?

    5) yao fouled out with a minute or so left - how does that help

im afraid your post was pretty inaccurate.

Denvers D really sucks! We will see it tonight. :D

Nene isn't playing? That is a good news, and it should be one reason why we can beat them. :D

Battier can stop melo. They are teammates in teamUSA. ;)

Yao didn't play the last min in last game, and it means a lot! ;)

BTW, hope doesn't need 'accurate'! :D

Another loss for sure. Melo will kill TMAC, and Camby will teach Yao a lesson.

just to let u guys know, tmac's first season here, we started 6-11. tmac was hesitant, new system for him and some players..

now new coach, 3-4 new players, PG rotation in question, tmac's injury, we're 6-7.

i think we need to relax and be patient.

I will continue to demand Adelman's head as long as he plants Yao at the elbow and refuses to put him at the low post. There is really no reason to be patient when the coach is ruining the franchise center.

well JVG used tmac wrong to start the season in 04-05 and he basically avg 17-18ppg and yet only 3-4 assists.

    it's still early.

and we're losing more with defense than offense. our offense IS improving. but i don't care how great your offense is, you allow a team to shoot 50%+ every time, it's hard to win.

Actually I might be the one with the most patience. I can tolerate coach to take the whole season to practice his new system. Bottom line: as long as next season we can be in playoffs, I don't mind even we being a lottery team this year.

No, the offense isn't improving. It is just as bad as last year with the added problem that Yao is at the elbow and thus isn't doing anything. Adelman said that his vision for Yao was Vlade Divac. Man that just make me want to go down to Houston right now and rip his head off. JVG didn't ruin McGrady at all, McGrady ruined himself with the back spasms.

Yao needs to be in the low post. Whoever still thinks the high post is a good idea is a moron. It isn't. Oh by the way who does bad defense reflect on? The coach, again.

Adelman is a miserable failure and needs to be fired. I wish the fans would chant "fire Adelman" if we lose tonight.

the same way 90% of this board wanted JVG gone last yr.

then when we get the next coach and he goes through a transition phase and lose a few games, we should fire him too.

    and so on.

do u want a new coach every 20 games?

u judge a coach by the end of the season. if we don't meet our expectations by the end of the season, then fire his arse. but u don't fire coaches willy nilly.

again, if we made 37-38% of our 3pt shots like last yr, i don't think u would be complaining about the offense. our shooters just regressed from last yr (from alston to battier to head to james)

I think we lost to Heats in two periods. One is in the first 3-4 mins of the 1st quarter. I think it is because our starters' score ability is less than Heats', specially for Hayers and Rafer. Another one is in the last 3-4 mins of the 3rd quarter, and it is because No one can score when Yao sit out and Tmac was doubled. We need a good substitute for Yao, just like Mourning for Shaq.

In fact, Both teams got 24 pts in the 4th quarter.

I hope Adelman can change start lineup tonight.
