yeah, he needs to tone it down a bit, we need more Goon... However, he's not being extreme, you make it sound worse that what actually is. Things have improved significantly from the disgusting KPJ/JG ball that we were playing last couple of seasons.

This year Jalen's making quick aggressive moves, often off of screens, which is not the worst offense, by any means. No more aimless dribbling and meandering in the lane, which was killing me.

Is Sengun a better option? Yes. Am I curious if Sengun can carry a heavier load without buckling? Yes.
However, it looks like coaches want more balance and Green's plays this year are not the worst option.

 

The on/off impact of players so far this season:

 

I don't agree, Jalen has developed a lot and a guard will have off nights shooting the ball, that is life. I think he plays a fair share of off ball basketball when Sengun is handling the ball.

With that said, FVV and Sengun is a match made in heaven.

He isn't trying to get numbers he is being aggressive to draw attention and make it easier for everyone else to score. The offense already runs thru Sengun pretty much every play. FVV gets the ball he dumps it to Sengun then Sengun decides what to do whether it's give the ball back to FVV or he tries to do something himself.

The game is generally played through VanVleet. Yes, Sengun seems to be more responsible, but the main scorer is still Jalen Green. Dude.

 

The game is played thru Sengun it just starts with Van Vleet who then dumps it to Sengun. Sengun gets the 3rd most FGA and has the 2nd most Ast after FVV. If you add all that up he gets a lot more possessions than Green.

Jalen is a secondary perimeter scorer and third playmaker after Sengun and FVV. He gets his numbers because he focuses less on assists and more on scoring but possession wise he is behind Sengun and FVV.

 

Of course, some attacks are played through Sengun. But not always. Remember the end of the Nuggets game. Sengun went to the corners to open the painted area for green because he was trying to pull Jokic on himself and empty the inside. So not every attack is played through Sengun.

I like him and that’s what I feel he needs for the team to get better. Play through Sengun, which they are doing, hence the success and JG just needs to not force it.

 

y’all more sensitive in this chat than I remember, 3 years of losing will do that. Me I just checked on the team occasionally until they fired the boy wonder and hired an actual coach.

I said I think, that’s how I started, it’s a thought. Nowhere did I say he should tone it down, I said I think he is trying too hard and some of his shots reflect that.

He is a young player so he is gonna want to take over, but sometimes you gotta play within the offense and let it come to you.

If I hate a player, I’ll come out and say it. Like I hate the living crap out of that bearded b*stard that is hoping from team to team like a $2 gardening instrument. But JG? I like him, just want him to be better, that’s not a bad thing
