The Rockets need to pick up the D and remember that the game is broken up into quarters, not thirds. Seriously, it would be painful to start the season 0-3. Lets go out there, get a win, and show Melo that we are a team worth playing for.

 

The Rockets are still having the same 2nd half letdowns as last season. What's that about?

 

Yao is going to get a HUGE ovation from the crowd during the introductions.

Rockets win this 103-94. Four reasons:
1) Yao will play significantly better than last time--his timing and shot have been improving steadily and playing at home is just going to give him that extra boost

2) Lowry will be back so we finally have someone who can defend the perimeter a little. If Brooks can't mark his man, RA will unleash the bulldog.

3) Brooks & Martin will be extra conscious on defense given the ribbing they've taken since the GSW game. I don't expect them to defend like Artest, but hopefully they won't allow their marks to waltz into the lane at will.

4) Our record of 0-2 is not an accurate reflection of how good we are as a team: The Lakers game, we controlled the game till the 4th quarter, which ended on a coin toss--we could've very easily won it if not for a couple of poor decisions at the end. The Warriors game we should have won under normal circumstances, but Ellis was just on fire. The way he was shooting was a statistical outlier--yes, it probably helped that he was being guarded by Battier who is used to guarding slower, bigger wings and Martin who is used to guarding his own shadow, but even so, he was going crazy. With the shots he was taking (long 2s), I like our chances 9 times out of 10 on that game.

 

its been tough on me the let down of the first two games.... but lets get us a win and play some defense...
