    Ummm...

I am feeling really weird about this, but..

Is it just me, or is Carmello kind of pretty?

To quote Aerosmith: "Dude looks like a lady!"

Marv said that there were many tense moments between Fratello and Van Gundy last year. Apparently they didn't get along, and Van Gundy's not the type of guy who sugar coats things. If he has a problem with you he'll let you know. I thought his diss on the Czar was pretty funny though.

Anyways...how can ESPN say Carmelo is living up to the hype...by scoring 18 points...on like horrible shooting % and along with 8 turnovers..

Rockets did a great job getting everyone points. 6 guys in double figures..I don't think this was common last season...I have a feeling that everyone will be scoring and contributing this season.

And it's great shooting 47%!! Very nice..of course...this was the Nuggets. They have improved...but we should have won this. They were probably very tired after beating the Spurs the night before..

I don't know how the Rockets are going to guard Lebron, Ricky Davis, and Darius Miles...

On ESPN, it said that Yao had 17 points in 20 minutes..2 point difference..

I love how when Yao is in the game...everything is revolved around him..and defense is structured to utilize Yao and our other players...and when Yao is out...Francis and Mobley can go crazy with their "freestyle" fun highflying scoring game...running...beautiful...just beautiful.

This is why Jim Jackson was a GREAT addition...he can play in a big man offense with Yao and also run with Francis and Mobley and Nachbar and Cato and Braggs and Moochie like the Kings did...He played very well last night. I guess when he said,"Man, this is just preseason..." he really meant it and wasn't trying that hard.

Nachbar is not a bust! Just beautiful...can you believe Nachbar actually made a jumper in a regular season game in the NBA? And he played TWENTY MINUTES. Now I wonder why Rudy never played him...

I love how JVG does not care about what others think. He respects good players...like Carmelo...and even though Carmelo is a rookie...we automatically doubleteamed Carmelo from the beginning. RESPECT. Great X's and O's.

    Please beat the Grizzlies!

just copy paste from Nuggets bbs of some comments about camby and nene who were defening yao last night.

    "
Camby- which version is going to show up? Was outclassed in the low post by Yao and in all honesty should never have been allowed to play staight up against him. They should be doubling Yao every time he gets within 8ft of the basket.

Nene - but you dont think nene looks better than last year? hes the ONLY guy i think who looks better. all he has to do is stop making those dumb fouls (like over the backs, reaching in, etc...i dont mind if he fouls playing defense). he has a few posts moves, an improved J and better ft. he has such a quick first step for a big man and then those long arms - he just reaches and places the ball in the hoop. its awesome. even yao couldnt stop him on those.

Camby - I don't really expect anyone to guard Yao one on one with any success but what is he doing on the offensive end? Quit jacking up jumpshots.

lol..yep Camby got a bunch of fouls quickly...

I liked Nene. I have always liked him...since he was known as Nene Hilario. He would be nice for the Rockets...it seems like he has improved as well..

Can anyone provide me the url for the Nuggets BBS site?

BTW, just spent $159 to get NBA league pass......Guess that I have to do that on a yearly basis for the next 10 years. Hope that Yao will retire in Houston. If he does not opt for Lakers in 3 years, he is here to stay.

After watching that game last night i would tend to agree, it wasn't for lack of effort he just didn't seem to have the foot speed to keep up

I think it's cuz Denver's away jersey is so damn ugly it would ruin our opening night. That aside, Cato looked like he really wants that starting spot.

I never knew Rodney White was THAT IMPORTANT!

None of the Nuggets fans on that BBS said anything about the Rockets...nothing bad, nothing good..

You gotta love this quote from some 'tard named "rock" over at that BBS in THIS thread...

i cant stand the rockets though. their game is crap. im really enjoying watching yao play (and he is humble) but outside him it sucks. cato, jackson, mobley (overrated), taylor...give me a break. they wouldnt have had HALF their baskets today if we didnt play like morons OR if thye played a playoff team. and this friggin team wins the lotto and gets yao? imagine if they werent lucky. and of course the nuggets in countless lotto appearances goes down every time. whatever.

Yeah...crap enough to kick your asses. The Sucketts win an ugly game against San Antonio and get whipped in Houston. Maybe they're not as good as their fans think they are...

It was an ugly game with a nice 3rd quarter for the Rockets. Man, there were a LOT of whistles. How Nene incited 3 technical fouls out of JJ and Mo I guess I'll never know. Those guys aren't hotheads. That Caramelo kid is gonna be a great player, but he paid for those fouls he drew last nite in blood. Yeesh. But he can't be accused of not contributing. Smart move by JVG to double-team right out of the gate.

The Nuggets are WAY WAY better, but still have a ways to go. They have a solid young nucleus though.

Mad props to Anthony Miller for ditching the jheri curl fade.

First off, this is a WELL OVERDUE review of the game since I thought the BBS was really going to die. Anyways, I was at the game yesterday and it was spectacular. The festivities were "ok". The NBA JAM van was a cool expierence. Played a 2 games of "Knockout" there and the van itself was filled with stuff to compared yourself to players and feel small :p . The ice sculptor was pretty amazing as you see in the pics below. Right at 530pm, they had fireworks since the door were going to open at that time. Went inside, got a free hat, headed to the Rockets Store. That place is pretty huge. Id say the size of a side store at the mall. They had the jerseys there for $60 a pop, was tempted to buy one, but resisted. It was the Reebok replicas btw. Before the game, nothing much other than the unvieling of the champioship banners and retired jerseys. I also met tigernet there who sat next to me and someone else who I can not recall his u/n at the moment. After the game, we were entertained by Coolio. Yes he is old school, but hey it was a free concert and an excuse to go the lower prom section. Here are the pics I took, not many, but you get the idea.
