Screw the bench, I'll take a bum off the street and at least he'll try to earn some money.

Other than his turnovers and completely non-energetic play, Moochie is stopping 15 feet short of the 3-point line when he brings the ball up the court! WTF? How is he supposed to create shots for his teammates when he never gets closer than 35 feet from the basket? It 's also difficult to do layups when you are that freakin' far away!

Carmelo, Nuggets have Yao on tap

    Oct. 30, 2003 10:54 a.m.

    Nuggets vs. Rockets

Let's get something straight right off the bat: We're all about Yao Ming this year. The guy is gonna blow up and live up to the enormous hype. In the few looks we had of him in the preseason, Yao looked like a different player from last season. Broader, stronger, more confident — Yao is poised to be a real force in the NBA in this, his sophomore season. The Dime crew was discussing just the other day about how every time Yao takes a shot — whether it's a fadeaway, a hook, whatever — it always looks like it's going in the hoop. When one of those baseline fadeaways rims out? It's almost a shock.

What does this mean for tonight's game? You would think by looking at the Denver Nuggets' front line of Marcus Camby and Nene, that the Nuggs would be totally overmatched. But check out what they did opening night, taking care of the Spurs. True, the Spurs won an emotional game against the Suns the night before and then flew to Denver immediately afterwards, but they still have a dominant big man in Tim Duncan. And when it comes down to it, a win against the world champs no matter when you play them is huge for any young team.

But the Nuggets will be up against it tonight, coming off their own emotional high from opening night. Overcoming two of the world's best big men on back- to-back nights might be too much for them to handle. Marcus Camby pulled 20 boards by himself against San Antonio's front line, putting his team in the position to win the game. How many nights like that does Camby have in him this season? He'll need one tonight against Yao to give his squad a chance.

We don't see it happening. The Rockets take their opener

Melo looks disappointing so far. I'm not used to seeing him force so many shots.

Ok this game looks sloppy. Real Sloppy. Yao is doing well as in Steve but the rest of the crew is just crappin out.

Keep moochie on the bench, Boki was looking good, give him more time.

Steve has played an excellent game so far. As one of the announcers said, he is passing it to Yao when he's in, and taking the shots when he's not, just as he should. He is playing smart and aggressive, usually a difficult combination for him. So far, I'd say he's gotten the new identity.

    Mobley, on the other hand...
