McHale also should get a lot of heat for this game. He clearly got out coached.

I don't understand why Thornton didn't get any PT and why Harrell only got 16 minutes.

And for those that believe Hardens minutes will decrease, LOL not he played 35 minutes tonight.

Point is, great teams lose to bad teams occasionally.

We lost to the Lakers, happy? And they didn't even have a phenomenal rookie just a bunch of scrubs and Jeremy Lin.

Still went to the wcf, your point?

I'm not terribly concerned about Jones because I'm pretty confident it won't be long before Montrezl takes his job.

    and we're at home. smh.

it's not the loss per se. it's the way it was lost. that's where the concern is. how long this concern has reasons to stand depends on how soon the rockets can get their act together.

i am not panicking. nor do i have any reason to be, after one game. i am just a bit frustrated. but meanwhile i find frustrations are a lot easier to manage once i adjust my expectations of this team to a reasonable level. just like after weeks of frustration, i am not mad at the texans no more. lol. i mean, once you realize this team is no championship contender material, you tend to be a lot calmer...

Yeah that was weird that Thornton didn't play. I really wanted to see him.

    ????

This is a team with championship aspirations.

The only positive you can pull from tonight is that it can't get much worse. That's it.

No one has said this is a lottery team. There have been concerns that maybe the goal of championship is not realistic given the way this team played. There is middle ground between championship and top two lottery team, ya know?

And really, there are a bunch of fans just venting right now because of the built up excitement of the season and then witnessing that **** show.

Yeah we all hope the team plays better, but can you really not understand fans frustration and doubts after watching that game.

Yeah good teams lose and have off nights. Good teams don't get thoroughly dominated in all aspects from start to finish.
Hopefully the rockets can grow into a good team capable of winning a championship but right now I wouldnt bet on it. Golden state is going to try to come in here and set the tone for the season. That game will be just more evidence to examine to help us hypothesize about what type of team we have.

Plain and simple rockets need to get s lot better. Dwight and Dmo help, but they don't make that team that was out there tonight a champion.

I'm not too worried. They looked rusty. Jones look absolutely terrible.

but I think they'll be fine

Late-arriving DVR crowd here. That was putrid.

To say something nice about that wreck - Beverley gave some great energy. He's going to be a big success in that bench role.

Just got home from the game, it was hard to watch. It was as if they never played together.

Jones was stinking it up bad in the first. Harrel came in and there was an immediate difference.

If they play like they did tonight Friday, it's going to be a long night. They need to come together, because that was some of the worst passing I have ever seen.

    I just go by results.

People know me, I was the biggest cheerleader for the fire McHale club.

McHale coached this team without Dmo and Beverly to the wcf. Has Marc Jackson been that far?

I remember McHale coached teams spanking Jackson's warriors teams.

I know next you are going to say that both suck as coaches.

I'm saying McHale and the rockets deserve more of a leash than one game. They earned that after last year.

    This!

Unfortunately the rockets played like chubby old ladies.

I know D12 and DMO did not play but STILL.

    Pathetic shooting from 3

    Turnovers

    Missed free throws

    Poor or nonexistent defense

Harden played like **** - too reliant on that bricked 3, extending his arms and the ball to the defender, getting hacked but no call bc he was creating that contact. Then he pouts and chucks more threes and yells at Lawson to shoot, not pass.

There was hustle, but no execution, no poise.

Frankly just an embarrassing opener at home for this WCF runner up

Did OB from Kirby Dr. come and give a motivational speech?
