Is this a Netflix halftime special?

 

Tonight Green's been great. The starting lineup was good until the bench came in and brought the momentum to a halt.

 

The wheels fell off when the bench unit came in. Honestly, no way to avoid blaming Wood. He puts himself in the same conversation as Giannis repeatedly. And yet he gets owned by G Leaguers and backups constantly. -17, 0-4 shooting, and the stats don't do justice to how much he was demanding the ball and then literally unable to do anything with it. I'm surprised Silas allowed it to last as long as he did.

 

Exactly, I was eager to see this hyped kid with hops that was "Jellybean" Bryant's
son.......I was underwhelmed and disappointed on how slow he was his first couple
of seasons.

People act like he came into the league at All Star Mamba level.

 

You watched this game, and your conclusion with the result is something is wrong with Green?

now we get b*tch slapped on each cheek every night

 

Well, in this particular game the team instantly got crushed once the starters went out.

Sounds like from what the coach just said the team lost confidence since then.

 

It is more a Porter than a Green thing, so far.

Porter and JC are still trying to find Campazzo, haha. He plays at 2 different levels of speed and intensity than our whole team. Our young guys are too soft and innocent.

We are also ridiculously small. There has been a moment when they were playing with Barton at SG, Gordon at SF, Bol and Jokic. We play with "bigs" like Tate, Martin... Even Theis (our most physical center) is a small center. Then Brooks is a 6-3 SG who plays even smaller.

 

The guys play good defense one-on-one early in the shot clock, but as soon as the first pick-and-roll comes in, they just give up once they feel the screen, immediately switch and then get lost on cross-matches. Way too many situations where two guys are guarding one opposing player.

Campazzo has many flaws, but one thing he does exceptionally well is run the pick-and-roll, and this team seems like absolutely the worst at guarding it. Guy looks like a world-beater.

 

When you say "Come on man" are you quoting a political leader from the White House? If so...

I was a Kobe Stan from day one but facts are facts. I would argue with people all the time telling them to just give it time. He didn’t make it easy early on.

We have a lot of undrafted, hustle guys in the team and once they got to a winning streak somehow they managed to keep the momentum alive. A lot of „proving they’re worth it“ was going on. But we started slowing down before Green came back and he hasn’t had a bad game since. We’re losing because we’re not very good and it has nothing to do with Green. Even the +/- fans can’t knock him as he’s been one of the very few players who’s had a positive +/- in the recent 20 point blowouts.

Trying to put the blame on Green is just weird at this point and some huge mental gymnastics are required to do so.
