I know that most nights statistics say otherwise but I am strongly against the Rox seeing Alston as the starting Point Guard. I see Alston, mostly playing his own agenda not in the flow of the game. He is mostly looking for his potential for making his move or taking a shot before he thinks about anyone else. With his excessive dribbling and moving the ball away from a demanding Yao it is beginning to bring visions of Francis being back on the court.
I dont blame Alston as much as I blame JVG for not getting Alston to play more in the flow of the game.

Boy! Mike James would look really good right about now!

One of many bonehead moves by the Rockets this year.

    How can this be explained?

You got only two weapons on a team one making the max the other one this year is not making the max yet but . . .

we are close to Luxury tax territory.

    Where did the money go???

We need a thrid scorer maybe a close to MAX player beside the two already mentioned but we have no Money.

I have to ask again 2 main guys and a bunch of scrubs how the hell are we close to luxury tax with this set up?????

It's fairly clear what we need for next year. Shooters and more shooters. That is the main difference between last year and this year. We could have easily won the last two games if we had someone who was consistent. I think our defense is fine because we have been in the end of the games, but we can't hit the open shots to take the pressure off of Yao and Tracy.

Please get us some shooters for next year.

You need to take a look at Juwan's contract.

Rafer's contract isnt very attractive either. And we are stuck with it for a long time! We gave up Mike James who was in his last year for Rafer?!?! Someone just shoot me, LOL!

Rafer is a medicore player. Juwan is a scrub who is just robbing the Rockets, plain and simple.

it seems as if the the steam is fading......... well i think its time to make swift the full time starter. Juwon Howard is way subpar. JVG should jus work on developing the young guys and look forward to next season.

Note to CD, JVG, Les: please sign some quality starters this off season

I should have put roll eyes (my bad), I know how fat and juicy brick layers contract is, my eyes were all pointing on his direction and the GM and the GM playing coach.

These guys played their part in the down fall of this organization plain and simple.

We have no shooters, we can't afford shooters but we have Juwon and the forward thinking/visionary GM and the coach/GM.

A history of bloated contracts, poor trades, poor acquistions, and poor drafts. With a few exceptions, the personnel decisions of this team over the last ten years have been abysmal. Result, two superstar starters and the "seven dwarfs." (with the exception of Mutombo, of course) The team last year was a patchwork job that jelled at least temporarily. Sura, Barry, and James were the glue. They are gone and so is magic, and the outside shooting.

IMO, a reliable scorer is much better than a sissy jump shooter.

You are right. PF and shooters are No. 1 priority right now. Those are huge holes.

But when the Rockets are ready to content for a championship, they WILL need to look at another PG.

Rafer is mentally weak. He makes bad decisions and is turnover prone at crucial points of the game.

He would make a great backup PG, however.

But that's a long ways from now. Right now they just need to put a good product out there.

The stuff that we Rockets fans are getting treated to on a nightly basis is just garbage.

The shame in all this is that Yao and Tmac's Talents are being wasted here.

Yao missed a pass and there was a turnover. Jeff called a timeout after the rockets got the ball back and he was yelling at Yao in front of EVERYONE- teammates, coaches, fans, and the television.

    F U JEFF!!!!!!!

Tis stunning that even with the pathetich shooting display that the rest of the team was putting on; they forgot/ignored/didn't see Yao time and time again (esp in the second half). He would establish position and call for the ball and wouldn't get sh** when the window of opportunity was open...*sigh*...

I am amazed the big guy doesn't want/hasn't broken any heads with the way things have been going lately.

    Pathetic..utterly pathetic...

I just wanted to say the same. They have better peremiter shooters than what we have. There must be something rong with the management people of the Rockets

I see that as well, sometimes. So basically Skip is like Mike James except without the offensive skills.

At this point in time Alston is not adequate!!!
He might develop by the coach JGV insisting that he abandon his own adgenda and play more in the flow ogf the game- No dribble mania and he must remember that his role is that of PLAYMAKER- at present he is making too many poor decissions.
