I've been trying to send the damn thing back for a month now. I think they have my Equifax information.
We could’ve had a record setting start of winning 12 games with 15+ pt difference in first 20 games.
Even though we did win, MDA looked kinda disappointed in the post-game interview. Our defensive intensity is way, way lacking in the last few games, and I'm sure it's because we're facing inferior competition, I do wonder if the whole team is getting a little arrogant and think they are too good to play defense.
It's human nature. You play crappy, shorthanded opponents at home and you're on a roll, and you're gonna have these moments. The important thing is to limit them to small stretches during games and not play like that for the entire 48 minutes. And also try not to do it against quality teams. If the Rockets spot the Pacers a 20+ point lead tomorrow night, they may not recover from that.
What flips me out is that the Rocks have plenty of room for improvement with the players they have. I keep seeing threads or posts about who Morey might get around the break to improve the team. Perfectly understandable speculation, by the way, and I keep thinking that we're going to improve with the players we have. Daryl obviously made some key moves during the off-season. Did he ever! Both the acquired players, and the fellas who were already here, while we enjoy watching, continue to mesh together as a team, finding their roles. MDA, behind that poker face, has to be cackling like a madman, still busy figuring out how he's going to use everyone. The coaches around the league? They have to be worried about Houston, not only concerned with how to game against this offensive juggernaut, with its much improved defense, but also what kind of team they'll be up against later in the season. One thing I don't doubt. They can't look forward to going against the Rockets in the playoffs. Going against this team whether Morey makes another move, or not. It's enough to make your head spin. I don't get motion sickness, but I might need to buy some Dramamine.
I'm starting to get worried about EGo. We've played a number of slump busters lately and he just isn't shooting well. They mentioned on the broadcast that he was trying to adjust this shot before the game. He shouldn't have to do that as good as he is. When we play better teams our margin of error will be much smaller and he's got to step up.
He's just adjusting to his new role(which is technically his old role). Everyone goes through a slump.
They are. But he'll get it going again. He's too good a shooter for this slump to continue much longer.
