For everything great he did that was not a smart decision, his defense in first half was also really bad. But he was really least of our issues, this was on MDA and MDA only. There is a reason we were 682-0 before this being up 6 with 30 seconds to go.
You asked who we should have signed, and those were options available. I’m sure there many others available. The point is...locking in on MCW and Melo, two players proven to be very bad for multiple years, was not wise. Both were minimal upside moves that were poor stylistic fits. There was no reason to sign them. They were wasted roster spots from the jump, and now Melo’s is still an albatross on our books. Hopefully we get rid of him soon.
Can we not at least get Kenneth Faried from nets in exchange for gifting them this win? He isn’t even playing for them

the thing is... the exact same thing happened against GSW.... but that game we won in overtime - so it was ignored... Is this Harden just going rouge and not listening to MDA... or is MDA not coaching how to handle the situation? Either way... it doesnt look good for MDA... either he has no control or input as to what's happening - or he's flat out not coaching and doing his job... When a mistake is made... eh, it happens... but if the same mistakes get repeated... then what is he doing?
lol Harden scored 58 on almost 66 TS% Rest of team scored 84 on about 55 TS% Rest of the team unable to capitalize on 4 on 3 situations and some downright crazy consecutive 3 point makes cost us this game.
Just looking at the highlights, I don't even think the Nets players had any confidence their shots were gonna go in.

The last time a player lost despite scoring at least 58 apparently was Devin Booker when he lost to the Celtics by 9 after scoring 70 at the Garden.

Yeah the off season sucked but who was Morey supposed to sign? Letting Trev go was the right move since it would have cost at least 15 mil. Luc? Was he even a factor after his injuries? Melo was low risk and so was MCW. He got rid of Andersons contract and one or another Knights contract will likely provide value one or another. Chriss comes off the books after this season. Seriously, what was he supposed to do? The team got very close last season with largely the same team and Harden has gotten even better. Injuries are an unfortunate part of the game and it sucks that the Rocket have been hit so hard.
