Look you can relax a little but this isn't a vacation. Should be nothing but free throw, 3pt, and ball handling practices all week.

Just wanted to say MAN it feels good to beat the damn Mavs... finally got that revenge for 2005. Props to TJones for taking it home for us in the 4th! And what a huge shot from Harden.

All that being said I hope the Rockets really step up the defensive intensity next round, we just aren't playing that well it seems. Gotta play better if we want to advance.

I disagree, we lose a lot with Pat out. Our defense suffers a lot, he is miles better than Prigioni/Terry. And he is a much better 3pt shooter than Prigioni. Losing Bev will be much more noticeable next round when we actually play a decent PG, but even this round we had Barrea going off on us.

I Hope D-Mo is recovering well! We're gonna need him next year.... It feels good to know our core is pretty intact (relatively) going into next season compared to a lot of the contenders around us

    LAC (Jordan?)
    Portland (LMA?)
    Memphis (Gasol?)
Mavs (Monta? Tyson? Parsons (injury)? aminu?)
    GSW (Green?)

While we are locked in with good depth at a lot of places:

    Bev?/ Prigioni
    Harden
    Ariza
    D-mo/Tjones
    Howard/ D-mo/ Capela

Brewer, Smith and Terry are question marks but I'd love it we worked to bring those guys back and just kept this core together while other cores break up

and Maury has some room to work some magic

Do you guys think the series would have looked much different at this point if Cuban would have kept Wright, Crowder, and Jameer instead of pursuing Rondo? Thoughts...

It certainly would have helped. Us having Bev would have made a huge difference too.

Absolutely. They'd have so much more spacing, athleticism and shooting. It's unreal how much the Rondo trade ruined that team.

Of course it would've helped, Wright was unstoppable in their system posting a league breaking 70 TS%. If you look at the series Dirk didn't play well, Carlisle could've benched him in favor of Wright instead of sticking with him.

I do not see much athleticism with Wright and Jameer. Perhaps Crowder. Not significantly.

Those guys are more experienced and solid but not flashy, not better shooters by much.

Again those guys win out because they have been there.

Sorry but I cannot get really excited about this win and we should not be happy with just a 1st round advance. This was a ugly game, we did not play all that hard for most of the game, gave them easy looks, let them get into the paint and have Dwight Howard clean everything up and when he went for the block, 9/10 nobody boxed out and rotated over.

Also way too many TOs, sloppy passes by Harden but also others, Brewer losing his footing for 3 times or something, just an ugly game. The intentional fouling and referees calling every flop and touch by Howard was also very frustrating, then at the end they turned it around and called some bull on the Mavs.

Way too many threes again and not in rhytm but forced because Ariza and Josh just need to take a few at least. Unfortunately when you do not have a clear game plan, players take it upon themselves to shoot it. If not for that bank shot, Josh & Ariza would be 1 for 6 and 1 for 7 respectively. We need to have some plays for Ariza and Terry as well, get them going. Josh will always take threes as he sees fit, so we just have to deal with that since McHale will not do it.

In general it seemed the team was nervous except for the first few minutes and in the clutch. That's the positive, how we started and how we finished. Harden worked hard on defense last couple of minutes and Dwight finally got mad! Also, again we got shafted by our scorekeepers again: Dwight had 5 blocks, Terry had 2 and both got 1 less. Then Harden had way more assists than 8, I'm 100% sure!

We need to play a whole lot better and cannot afford this atrocious FT shooting and sloppy passing. That being said, we took care of business and I wish I felt better about advancing to the 2nd round but it's not like this team was a 2007 JVG coached undermanned team with guys who could not shoot. We are the 2nd seed and does not make up for that dagger last year. It's a totally different team so happy we got the win, but I'm very nervous about that 2nd round.

Give some credit to Terry for some aggressive plays, TJ for stepping up at the end, Harden for stepping up, Prigioni, Josh early, Dwight for gobbling rebounds though he needs to stop fighting his own players over rebounds. That goes for Ariza and one other player I cannot remember. We almost lost out on a defensive rebound late in the 4th when Ariza had it and Dwight wanted to take it from him and only when he realised he was almost out of bounds, he let it go..
