Well, guess what? You have to play every game, the entire game. An 0-20 run in the fourth? You deserve to lose.

They needed to learn that they can't turn it on and off at will, just leave the flipping switch on.

The good thing is we had a little cushion, but that's gone now, so you have to play like your backs are against the wall.

arright, get this... we seriously need les alexander to offer more incentives for rowdy fans. and we need to move the lower bowl outside the toyota center into some 5 star hotel.

we need van horn back on the mavs, hes our 6th man.

You're calling that the KEY to this game? That's pretty ridiculous.

Either way, it was the right call.. the foul occurred before he caught the ball. It would be continuation if he had the ball when the push happened. But since he was pushed and then caught it and finished...it was on the floor.

Hopefully the fans learned their lesson about being cocky and taunting. Let's just forget all that garbage, and back up the talk about finishing strong with action on the court.

It was too much bad Karma.

Van Gundy should not have played Yao the entire 2nd half. he had zero energy mid way through.

He had 2 rebounds in his hands fumbled away. He also missed an easy pass and a turnaround shot he usually makes.

Even if he was playing well, Van Gundy shouldve given him a blow at the beginning of the 4th quarter.

Well..refs made a few bad calls..but not that many today.

    It was mainly our fault.

We must win Saturday. It won't be easy.

I think we just didn't have that focus..we just felt like we had it cuz we were seriously OWNING..and they juts came back. They were scoring..and we were scoring too but not as easily..and then we stopped scoring..and they kept on scoring and got on a roll. Just unfortuante that their good times came at the ver yend and we didn't have enough time to come back..

    I don't know..Padgett coming in was a good thing.

I think we kept Barry in too long..he wasn't involved in offense at some points..and then defensively was guarding big guys and stuff..

I thought we overdid the screen and roll thing when it was starting to not work..and we should have gave it to Yao. Yao i guess tired out at the end cuz he screwed up..oh yeah the ref didn't call stackhouse fouling yao..leading to backcourt violation. But wow at one point Tmac off pick and roll was dominating..just everything that was beautiful.

Mavs fans said that they felt like their players just didn't do good not that we did anything..but tonight I felt like Rockets players we screwed ourselves over..they didn't do anything special..I felt like we were going to win this one even when we were down...until the last segment it didn't look good and we didn't win.

KVH getting injured probably helped them..

Sura did well and also had some sad plays..like trying to dunk but losing the ball.

I don't know but I thought Tmac should have attacked the basket even more than he did.

The Mavs can score..if they play defense..then they're good. We need to win this next one.

If we were on the road in the same situation up by 10..we would have closed it out and won.

Doesn't feel so great to lose, but did anyone seriously expect us to sweep them? We were bound to lose at least one game in this series. Hopefully it motivates the team to play better and hungrier. And, hopefully this is the only game we have to lose.

I thought this was the Post season? 2 consecutive games we allowed 100 points and over, something is not right, we can't play this type of high scoring game when they have more firepower then us, we need to get back at playing D and keeping the score around 80 or low 90s. Isn't our D one of the reasons why we are such a threat?

Time to play in the 4th game or we're cooked going back 2-2 to their Loud roaring ass Mav house.

Damn, I don't think Bradely played, did he? It would have been such a momentum booster if T-Mac or Ming had a nasty dunk on the guy again,

Avery is smart to bench the stiff.

As a Mavs fan, I'm just glad this has turned into a series again. One thing I hate, more than anything, is not having a competitive series. I'm glad my resting heart rate can get back into the normal range again.

Good point. I don't think this team should spend any more time with the media than they are supposed to. That was a hilarious interview with Barry and Sura on 610...but I think the team may have gotten a little ahead of themselves paying attention and interacting with the media (especially with a full 3 days off).

I'm not totally upset about us losing, but the fact that the Mavs went on that 20-0 run was a really hard to stomach....

The fans did not give up 20 points in a row.....the Rockets did.

Also.....why does Dirk get so many damned calls? He is much more of a flopper than anyone I have ever seen.

Yao needs to go to the Nowitzki school of floppage.

Also, the Refs should have looked at the scoreboard and figured out that the game was in Houston...the 3rd foul on Yao in the first half was a FRICKEN JOKE !!!

Dick Bavetta had that same call against Shaq and it was a no call.....it is a referees judgement call...not a hardline one.

Yao needs to get more calls, straight up.

However the game was still ours to win, if we held our composure...we didn't, all we had to do was start the 4th quarter with a little passion and the Mavs would have folded like a cheap tent.

Too bad, the Rocks HAVE to win game 4 or the momentum swings WAY over to the Mavs side.

    Go Rockets,......

that small ball worked.....i don't like seeing Yao run around after a guy more than a foot smaller than him.

T-Mac had a decent game... did'nt take it to the hole as much as i'd like to see him... he gets either fouled or makes it to the line more than 90% of the time.....

anyway we have a series...game 4 will be fun to watch.

Well there were many different keys to the game, but what i felt was this was a huge momentum changer. I felt like if that was called an and 1 and yao does make that free throw, being up 9 is much more of a commanding lead than up 6. Guess what happened the next couple of minutes

88-82 - we miss followed by a bucket
    88-84 - we miss again followed by a 3
88-87 - So instead of being up 90-82 (at least) we are only up by 1 with the momentum lost

And from what i saw on the replays, i think it was the wrong call. Yao fell back in midair which means in the air he was being pushed, and he shot it while in the air. it really doesn't matter, cause it's all moot now. I just think this was a game-changing moment.

    Guys,

PLEASE, PLEASE stop complaining about the fans, WE ARE WHAT WE ARE! IT WON'T EVER CHANGE ANYTIME SOON THIS SEASON!

Anyways, this game showed me exactly what I have been fearing: the Rockets reverting to their lethargic, layed-back selves, refusing to even show they give a damn, I felt like they were leading 3-0 the way they were playing, you would think they won the series already:rolleyes:

Only quarter they played fine in was the third, the rest of the game is forgettable.

Anyways, let's forget this game, move on to the next. I am sure JVG will rip into them, and we will see how they respond.

I just think this team doesn't show up unless something is at stake, and their backs are against the wall. They love to make it interesting. Just look at the energetic fashion they played with in the first two games, and their body language this game. That tells the whole story right there.

Just total team apathy. And to me, it is not that we lost the game that upsets me, it is that apathy that gets to me as a fan. There was no sense of urgency out there, and I am sure Dallas felt that and jumped on it.

Tmac missing those 2 FTs hurt as well.......all the little things were going the Mavs way, and the Rockets did nothing to turn it around.

Usually they pick it up on the defensive end...tonight they didn't, they coasted, and it cost them.

    But 50+ fouls....come on !!

Mavs +15 in the free throw department. We were able to overcome horrifically one-sided officiating in game one... we were not tonight.
