I know this is the wrong place, but I just saw this classic quote.

"[At least Knicks fans] don't go on making an ass out of themselves by making ridiculous claims like 'Yao Ming will make the All-Star team' or will average '13pt, 8 reb' this season."

It's just weird that nobody mentioned the great play by Sura in the first half.

    Maybe Sura has just fainted.

I totally disagree. Refs are human, but they get paid (and get promoted to this league) to do a good job! And not fear the FANS of all people.

TC is definitely not one of the best. I just don't think that would influence the refs one way or another. I've seen it often enough where the crowd is going nuts and there's a questionable call that goes in favor of the away team. Shoot, we saw it a couple of teams in CRUNCh time at New Jersey. Granted, not the greatest crowd...but they were going pretty crazy in the overtimes.

I think the acoustics have to be poor? Because Houston fans aren't great...but they DO show up for the playoffs usually (by the 2nd quarter). We'll see when the Rockets go on a serious run in the 2nd half.. cause they haven't had a whole lot to cheer about yet.

TNT just showed the glimpse of NJ-MIA game, nearly half of the seats were empty when VC shot the desperate 3 to send the game into 2nd OT. Are these NJ fans having too much fun outside basketball or what?

For argument's sake, pure by rules, every guard fouls every time when he guards the opposite PG. Every trip down, Yao is fouled couple of times, so as Shaq. If you are nitpicking, then maybe they all should play tennis. Consistency is the only thing people ask. If it's a foul in this game, by this player, at this moment, it should be a foul in any game, by any player, at any moment; vice versa!

you can argue they're going to call it no matter what if you're inside the circle, but yao's arms were as straight up as possible. there is no way you can make a call for the way his arms were. shaq blasted richard jefferson in the same way as yao and didn't pick up his 6th foul. shaq was outside the circle but yao would've been hit with that foul so fast it's not even funny.

I thought the royal fans are supposed to support the team from the very beginning, especially in difficult times? Nothing to cheer about? are you saying that they are all bandwagoners?

Couldn't agree more. It's even worse to make up a bad call with another bad call to the other team.

Yes, I think the majority of Houston fans are bandwagoners (or just people who go to games but don't really cheer a lot until the playoffs and good wins and all). It's pretty well-known that most Houston fans (what do you guys think, maybe 75%?) are like that.. don't worry, it's far worse in Atlanta ;)

Despite a few of the calls, The Rockets are not playing as well as they did in Dallas and they are only 5 down.

If Tracy gets a hot streak, and thus a killer instinct, look out.

I mean on defense. The Yao double team at 3 point line always results Dampier wide open under the basked or with a 6'1 guy defending him.

If you watched the end of the Jersey-Miami game Shaq did the same thing to Jefferson as YAO did and Shaq got NO CALL......

    Always?

It happened once tonight, and we fouled Dampier (like we were expecting to), and he missed both FT's, and Dallas never ran that play again.

And if they do, we'll foul... every time... and dare Dampier to beat us from the FT line.

Frankly, its GENIUS strategy by JVG....

Refs usually swallow the wistle during the last minute or so of a game, even for Yao im sure. Unless of course it is an obvious foul.
