You're probably right. If the Rockets had won the games they should have won (@Golden State, home against Sacramento, along with other games they blew) we would have clinched a playoff spot earlier and gotten more respect.

I agree about Sean Elliot, he was decent before but has just slipped the last few months. This team is young as far as the playoffs are concerned, but that probably won't make much of a difference halfway through the first game when the nerves are gone. Another annoying thing was that they said that Francis, Mo, Mobley and Yao had never been to the playoffs yet Mobley went his first year in the league, and was the starting PG for that playoff team!

It's just annoying, Michael Finley blew by Padgett and Weatherspoon and they're like "They're going to be in trouble against the Lakers with play like that!". Yeah, Weatherspoon and Padgett are going to play key minutes. And they brought up that the Rockets lost to the Lakers when they were 100%, yet the Lakers barely beat the Rockets at home a few weeks ago and the Rockets were banged up and slumping and the Lakers were on fire.

Huston Guards are Huston guards. They all know how to ignore Ming and brick every thing.

Well, if you read some of the posts on this board, playing without francis, mobley and cato is our full strength.

About Elliot... do you think he's a racist? I think he might be. He's always negative not only about Yao - but about many white players in the league.

Even regarding the Mavericks, he's much more vocal in his praise of Antoine Walker than Nash or Nowitski, despite the fact that Antoine sucks more often. Same thing with Webber over Peja... etc.

I think he's generally a good commentator - but it really is striking how much he tends to prefer the black players.

ugly ball movement on Rox side. Yao has problem with positioning. I am a bit confused what he was trying to do or what we were doing with him out there. 75% of time Yao is not even on the same side with the ball.

Mavs send Bradley in after Yao sits. Guess they have figured out to avoid that mismatch.

i think the same thing about stephen a. smith a lot. from dogging nesterovic so much earlier in the season to his kvh bashing (although lots of people dog him) to lots of other comments. maybe not racist, but at least biased. haven't noticed it as much with elliott outside of the fact he's always on yao about something.

as to this thread, it is hilarious. saying we don't know how to bring it for the playoffs as our second string plays out the season in a meaningless game for both teams. i mean, it's not like you have to look real deep to see who is and isn't playing (though like wizkid83 said, maybe they're shocked that with our best offense on the court against a weak mavs defense that we can't score more. must be the mavs defense, that seattle game couldn't have been a fluke.)

These guys are crazy. Did you catch Bill Walton's comments basically saying the Rockets were destroyed by Utah and haven't recovered since. First of all the Rocks were in that game up until the last 2 minutes, and second, they whipped on on Seattle, on the road, 2 days later!

I haven't paid to much attention to Elliot, but I've heard other guys doing games do the same thing. I think it's the Kenny Smith thing, where they look at foreign players as a "threat". I've said this before, the reason that Yao Ming didn't win ROY and barely got any praise is because he is from another country. All you heard from Tom Tolbert (who does the samething as Elliot) and others was how soft Yao was and he didn't dominate games even though Stoudemire didn't either. And they couldn't wait to jump on the Detroit rookie Center (Can't spell his name), yet they were willing to give guys like Kwame Brown and Jermaine O'Neal at least one year before labelling them busts. I don't think it's the black player or even white player thing, I think it's the American player and foreign player thing. Peja has a monster year yet Webber is the man, and even Brad Miller. Things like that.

How funny is it that dallas is leaving most of their starters in and our bench is holding strong? They tried to keep the starters in there and run up the score a bit, that didn't work.
