there's no issue. the lakers with only kobe is philly of the east only crappier. the lakers with just shaq are still solid. but it's not like their going to win it all unless they have both.

True. But the Kobe-only fans (they do exist on the Lakers BBS) don't know that. ;) It's still funny watching them though.

Does this family feud betwen Kobe-only fans and Shaq-only fans at Lakers BBS remind you of some other BBS we know? ;)

Yep. CC.net. That was part of my point. All BBSes have their own squabbles about their own players.

i hope yao will continue his torrid offensive performances, but I hope more that he will pick up his rebounding and defense.

I think he will have a solid game against the clips. He's had solid all around games in two past games vs clips this season.

I missed the game completely and we came up with a good win - does it mean that I have to miss the game more?

By the way, guys, everyone is entitled to his or her opinions - you don't have to attack one another to have your own viewpoint. This is what democracy is for, right?

Yao had 29/10 and he still could improve, especially against fronting defense, I will say that this is a great, great positive. One of these days he will learn to maintain his position and beat the fronting.

How times have changed - we are not satisfied even when Yao had a performance like this - he is surely on his way to something great!

Lets celebrate our win for now!

They also call Rick Fox "Brick Fox." LMAO (things like this are really funny early, early in the morning for some reason). I need sleep.

Let me tell you something. Yao posts up better than any guy over 7'4" I've ever seen. A person with a 7'4"+ frame is going to have serious center of gravity issues and the slightest push disrupts the balance of the tall player's disproportionate body. Secondly, smaller defenders can easily go underneath the arms of a 7'4"+ post player for the steal whether the post player has sealed his man or not. It is the responsibility of the guards to know this and of the coach to note this and inform his guards. In these situations, you should be throwing the ball high where the defender will have to try and outjump your tall post player for the ball. If that is not working, you go to the pick n' roll. The Rockets did neither on Saturday opting instead to keep forcing the ball low into the post for Yao.

To paraphrase the great Bill Walton, that foul call on Nash's three pointer was the worst call in the HISTORY of the NBA!

what a sweet win. Now they have an "easy" stretch of games coming up. Go Rockets. Yao keeps playing like this, perhaps the rockets could win some playoff games.

For postup, is it possible to just lob the ball up high and let Yao come get it? Really, they should be rifling the ball into him and not lobbing it in so his defender has time to react. But if they're going to lob it... why not lob it higher up. Kind of like what Steve did at the end where Yao got the layup and foul. I'm not saying this is how we should do it, but I'm asking if it is feasible.

    No.

Opinions are not drawn wildly out of the air. They're the basis of preference, inferences, and evidence. As such, some are much better than others. If someone's basis for an opinion is poor, there's nothing wrong with slamming it.

Most things you'll ever say are opinions, even though you don't think of them that way. Yet you'll be critiqued, judged, and your positions will be evaluated. You can't operate as if everything's equally valid - because it's not.

And you WON'T see them win in the playoffs if they do that again...Swear to God, the Rockets guards have to be the DUMBEST tandem in the NBA.

Nicely written. I do not disagree that there can be invalid or "poor" opinions, but I l respect the rights for people to make them.
