I think we can all agree that Yao lack's intensity and effort most of the time ..

We all just want hime to play with more intensity and effort more consitently..

Wether he's a star of role-player he has to give his best to compete everygame..

Not trying to be difficult, but Jordan was actually the number 3 pick. (Behind Hakeem and Sam Bowie)

I hear Kandiman is going to sue for having been taken away the honor without a legitimate reason. We all know how big a heart Kandiman has. He's not gonna give up the "most disappointing #1 pick" honor without a fight. In another news, Joe Smith is thinking about to get into the action too. Stay tune.

Thank yall for the correction. But yall got my point. It has been less than a season since tracy came to town. I don't understand some fans can be this impatient to yao and to the team. I agree with the former post that "tracy is in a honey moon, and yao is our 7-th year housewife and is supposed to be as good as before in what he has been good, and better than before in what he was not". I see a lot of constructive criticisms these days and i enjoy reading them, whether they say yao good or bad, as long as they are making sense. But the bottom line is we want the team BETTER and at this point the absolute only way to achieve that is by rebuilding the team around the two all-star players. Again, it is tmac's first season as a rocket and we were setting off for the playoff position. Show some patience. Show some support.

What pisses me off most about Yao is his inability to catch simple passes. The ball seems to bounce off of him and then he runs down the court with a stupid look on his face.

It wouldn't have surprised me if Portland fans did print out shirts like that for picking Sam 'Broken Legs' Bowie #2 ahead of Jordan.

    we all agree that Yao:
    1) has butterfingers
    2) get outrebounded by smaller players
    3) preferes to layup than dunk
    4) doesn't know how to defend without fouling
    5) begs to the referees to change theire calls

on a different note, why don't Hakeem be hired as a coaching assistant for the Rockets and replace pw to school Yao how on how it's done?

Hakeem plays a totally different style of ball and so does Yao

Yao just needs to learn the small stuff

we know he can score but its the little things that stick out

Shaq also has some of these problems. In today's game:

Shaquille O’Neal spent much of his 33rd birthday in foul trouble... O’Neal played just 19 minutes in the first three quarters, but the Heat actually played better without their All-Star center. While O’Neal sat out with four fouls, Miami outscored Cleveland 18-8 over the final 6:23 of the third to take control.

By the way, the NBA this year is different from the NBA for the past decades, it emphasizes speed and guards play.

LAL will not make this trade unless they are sure Yao will play for them in the next couple of years (I do not think Yao wants to play with Kobe). Otherwise, this trade is a suicide to them. In fact, Rox cannot get any good trade out of Yao with other teams before Yao becomes a FA for the similar reason.

Exactly, it has been moving towards this and away from the half game.

Hence why Amare is having such a good season.

You talked too much on Yao. But you did not count other failure factors such as other players' performance. So this is only a conclusion from a Yao-haters' perspective.

Actually the main reason the Mavericks was able to erase the half time deficit and get back into the game is: Jerry Stackhouse consistently posting up David Wesley, because Wesley is just too small to guard Stackhouse on post plays; Jason Terry also torched his man really well in the 3rd. That's absolutely not Yao's fault. We got beat on guard plays in the 3rd, Yao did all he could. The only thing he could have done better in the 3rd is to hit the shots he normally makes. Van Gundy should get Bowen or someone to play and try to take away Mav's guard play.

Do I have to put a ;) somewhere in the message? Yesterday I was a YOF, and today I become a YOH, just wondering what would be tomorrow.

Yao had his problem too. He was very hesitated, passed out for a TO instead of going strong for a dunk, took an awkward bank shot and a hook shot. It's not about he missed a couple shots, it's about how he missed those, he looked kind of intimidated by Shawn freaking Bradley, which is unacceptable.

But after JVG's timeout, he looked OK, went for the dunks and got his points easily. Guess JVG must have shouted at his right ear.

His mental toughness is still not there yet.

Fact is, Yao Ming is young, in some ways still a young man, that is, he doesn't KNOW just what his presence really does to others, and plays in a"small" way within himself. Only time and experience will change that. But in no way should he be trade bait. NO WAY ! TMac and Yao with what? Sura, James, wesley, and the brother Barry plus an upgrade at pF, could challange for a title for a few years already. This is a tremendous turn around. Without Sure though, beating the Sonics Tuesday night in Seattle ? Tell the truth, rocket fans, you know that doesn't feel real good right now. Remember those games 10 years ago or so, when it seemed like the Sonics were 12 guys who were all 6'7" tall and shot 3's? This Sonics team kinda reminds me of them, so winning Tuesday night, I don't think so. Go Rockets !
