The problem is that our shooters are trying to create their own shot and they are failing. They must play in the team concept by receiving the ball from a playmaker/passer who sees that they are open and in position to shoot.Alston must be told to pass to Yao when he calls for the ball and that he should be also reminded that he is the playmaker of the team.

Here is my approach: play dirty! Flagrant fouls on every driver. Foul all shooters. Push, shove, slap, hold, bite, trip, pinch, elbow, and otherwise try to inflict pain on the Mavs. A Mutombo elbow to Howard's teeth, he needs dental work anyway. Every time Terry grins, slap him. And so on. I think this is a reasonable strategy. Foul out our whole team. Get all the coaches tossed, and turn out the lights before the Mavs can beat the Rockets by forty. What's wrong with this? :D

That's Riley's Knicks. JVG learned everything from Riley, except this part, which is sorely needed for this soft Rockets team.

It is nice to read a poster that is on the same page. Affirmation is good.

It will be close at halftime, giving me false hope that the Rox might actually pul this one out. Then Dallas will run off 40 unanswered points.

But that's okay, because we get so pissed that we don't lose a single game until next season.

One consistent thing this team has done is be inconsistent. After last nights horrid shooting, I think these guys are going to be shooting lights out. Yao will continue his strong play and Bogans and Alston fuel a great feel good win for the Rockets.

Coupla ideas: First, I like the play hard, defend hard posts up above. This team gets its @$$ kicked night in & out & never fights back. Yao & Tmac get hammered many times with no fouls called, and then every time Rafer's fingers brush the opposing PG it is called!

Second, we need to disrupt the flow of their game. We need to act like a .250 ballclub with nothing to lose - which is what is on the floor right now. Our guards need to challenge the Mavs bringing the ball up every play and force them to use up time and make some bad passes until their confidence is shaken. This is another thing our current coach, as opposed to our future coach, does not do at all. Reminds me of Marty Shottenheimer and his prevent defenses which against Elway all it did was prevent victory.

    We need to blitz!

Third, play Lampe at least 15-20 min! He can't play any worse than Boguns and he provides some length, and rumor has it he can shoot 3's, something no-one else on this team can seem to do.

And play 2 buck Chuck Hayes some more! He needs some more time to get into the flow of the offense, and unlike Juwan there is a chance he will improve while also rebounding at a rate of 16 per 48 min. All Juwan gives us consistently is, uh, ummm, errr,.....really flat jump shots. :D

If we are going to have a chance to keep up with the Mavs we need fresh legs all the time, just like some of these recent coaches have been rotating bigs in & out against Yao, trying to wear him down by the 4th. That means we need a larger rotation. Hell I'd even let Bowen in the game for a few minutes to make Dirk laugh and miss a shot or two.

van horn, griffin, harris, and howard all out

The Dallas Mavericks are suddenly less concerned about earning the top seed in the Western Conference. Their focus now is on going into the playoffs healthy.

Injuries to starting small forward Josh Howard and backup point guard Devin Harris forced the priority change. Both tried to come back and instead got hurt again, prompting team officials to decide Tuesday to let the players rest until the last few weeks of the regular season.

"Both of those guys are out indefinitely," coach Avery Johnson said before facing the Cleveland Cavaliers. "I trusted some different situations [before], but now I'll bring them back when I want to."

Howard has been hobbled by a strained left hamstring. He missed four games, then left after playing 12 minutes Sunday night in Sacramento.

Harris has a strained left thigh. After also missing four games, he aggravated it Saturday night against Utah in his third game back.

Making matters worse for Dallas, starting guard Adrian Griffin will miss several games with a strained hamstring and reserve Keith Van Horn still isn't back from a knee injury that's kept him out since March 3.

We have a terrible defender in Rafer Alston guarding an explosive shooter in Jason Terry. We have one of the league's superstars matched up with Juwan Howard.

HOWEVER, we have a beast in Yao Ming on the self-proclaimed 2nd best center in the league. Yao's going to crush Dampier, if he ever gets through that double/triple team, that is.

Rockets win. Of course, right? That's how it always is. ;)

*WARNING* Root for your team by all means, but side effects may (and probably will) include upset stomach, vomitting, diarreah, drowsiness, dizziness, high blood pressure, the need to obliterate the closest object, the need to throw something at your TV, the need to fire JVG, the need to commit homocide, and then need to commit suicide.

If these symptoms last more than 4 hours, please call a doctor immediately.

You can avoid this by not watching the game. Oh well, I think we're all going to anyways.

The diarrhea part sounds like a lot of fun, actually. Then I can be blowing Bronx cheers from both ends.

I'd love to see a win.

    I don't think I'm going to.

    Mavs win, 115-88.

    Hope I'm completely wrong.

All I know is that we have to win this one. Obviously, we need the win, but more than that, it will be a huge confidence-builder.

Bogans could really put up the numbers in this one. He needs to step it up.

Juwan, Stro & Rybo have 18 fouls between them to give. Dirk needs to feel the pain on every one of those fouls.

This one isn't out of reach.
