    DaDa,

The solution to our PG woes isn't on this roster...we have to look beyond what we have for a solution.

All I know is we can't stand pat and do nothing or this season could be lost...it's that serious when you have no player outside of McGrady who can make decisions on the court.

As for Rafer, he turned the ball over a couple of times right under our basket/in our own backcourt with bad passes and both times it resulted in baskets for Dallas. He simply couldn't recover -- mentally speaking -- from that, and it showed in his hesitant play for the rest of the game, especially when he wouldn't pass the ball to McGrady when he asked for it and could get it, probably terrified of turning it over yet again (it's his patented 'mental stutters' that I always talk about).

So yes, he's a mental midget...the only thing he does well/average in the crunch is shoot the ball. You can't count on him to make decisions with the ball, however.

I agree about Rafer, but I don't get why you persist in thinking Billy could seriously help us this season. As you know, I have been a big supporter of the guy, from early on, but every freakin' time he's gotten into a game, he's sucked. Seriously sucked. We need a backup for Rafer, at the very least, if not someone who would put him at the backup point spot. Billy, who isn't nearly ready, and Lucas, who's a NBDL player, aren't going to cut it. I'm worried about the playoffs.

We need depth at the one.

8-12 weeks was the initial diagnosis. So I guess it's closer to 12.

I agree, we need a Sam Cassell type of player......or this team's season is going to be defined by it's weakest player, and that is sad.

even if he mssed the free throws man.he was the reason why we were so close.its not funny to defer when you have a guy wide open.he missed that 3 but it was a good shot.but in the end he should have given the ball to t-mac..all the big shots that he made in the past was created by t-mac or was created when t-ac had the ball and they double him..are you vspan buddy or something ..don't talk s..t man.macgrady played great in the 4th and he also shut down dirk

You know, JL3 might not have been a bad choice when Devan Harris was in the game at least JL3 can score the ball.

Im watching the fourth quarter again....Dirk clearly carried after his defensive rebound on his second dribble, which was around his head. After the missed call, he came down and that second consecutive 3

13 turnovers and only 9 assists tonight, that is pretty danged pathetic.

Yes, he can score, but he can't pass. That's what a point is for. He can play slightly better defense than Moochie, but when was that ever a compliment? If Van Gundy had any confidence in him, he'd be in there. He doesn't, and for good reason.

Why are we still talking about V-Span? Like someone mentioned, the solution isn't on our roster. Atkins may be a solution, or somewhere else. We will NOT see V-Span nor is he a solution this season.

But the Mavs were overplaying the passing lanes all night, and someone that can dribble penetrate is perfect for that type of scenario.

When the Mavs doubled Tmac we did not have another penetrating option on the floor.....they were able to guard our other 4 with only 3 players....which is terrible offense to say the least.

Oh, he is the solution, but the trust is just not there from the coach to develop him.

But, in a year or so, you guys will all come around to DD's view on V-Span, he is the answer to our PG issue........

You know it is not all on Rafer, right? There was a hell of a lot more that should have happened tonight starting the the idiotic lineup at the end of the third. Get of Billy's jock, seriously. It starting to look like you knoe nothing about basketball. What has Billy shown? Nothing but TO's and bricks. Yeah, Rafer isnt the best decision maker or can't hit a floater to save his life, but we lost this game in the 3rd with the lineup of Alston, Head, JHO, Hayes, and Deke. We missed FT's, but it should never have gotten to that point

He is certainly not the answer this year under any circumstances. Maybe he cracks the rotation next year and helps the team. Depends on how hard he works to improve.

Your persistence in VSpan playing is outrageous. If he was doin anything, and I mean ANYTHING, in practice, he would be playing. Despite his ramblings that he is TMAC back home, I guarantee JVG would be playing him if he even showed a little skill in practice.

Yeah that is a crap lineup, and the fact that we could not score when they were overplaying McGrady and guarding our other 4 players with only 3 is pretty pathetic offense.

As for my V-Span take, it is a little bit of sarcasm....I know he won't get the chance this year......I was attempting to lighten up the thread a bit....but I guess it backfired.

Thats the point, we should not get ourselves into that situation. JVG got outcoahced tonight.
