Good. One less LOF that will respond idiotically to my posts, lol.

It's harder to compare two players by their +/- when they are on the court at the same time a lot. The Rockets fell behind by a lot early, and we made up the difference when Douglas was on the court.

Harden stunk up the joint in the second half, he wasn't aggressive, and it makes sense now that we know his ankle was bothering him. I thought Delfino played OK, just jacked up a couple shots too many.

How can you say I'm not objective? I was neither a fan or a "hater" of Lin before he came to the Rockets, in fact I thought he should have made the team when the Rockets cut him at the beginning of last season. Just because I think that a certain player played better, just because I think the team did better when one player was on the floor as opposed to the other in one specific game, doesn't mean I'm not objective.

I never wrote anything "over the top negative." Just because I believe that Douglas was more effective tonight (well, in the first half and 3rd quarter) doesn't mean I'm being negative. If a LOF is upset that his favorite player isn't playing even though the Rockets are doing well at the time, I'm going to call them out on it.

 

Cos he's goodlooking and the cheerleaders want him to play. :grin:

 

I did say it was speculation didn't I? Though I have to admit, I am definetely leaning towards it for sensible reasons. Gasol? Traditional big man that Rockets always have in their good days. i.e. Malone, Olajuwon, Yao...hmmm, Gasol? Good guards? Murphy, Drexler, Mcgrady...hmmm, Harden? Plus, Gasol's contract expires in 2 years, if it doesn't work out, then that's it. Who knows. I keep saying I am speculating. But yea, you can't help but notice how dumb it was to sit Asik AND Lin the ENTIRE 4th quarter.

 

That would make sense if Lin was stinking up this game, but he wasn't. And he was actually knocking down 3s.

 

Another thing, Harden played something like 45 minutes and 47 seconds, on a back to back? Is McHale seriously trying to injure his franchise player? This has got to be the most competent coaching staff in the NBA.

 

Come on, let it go, you have too much time to kill.

 

By the way, when is the trade deadline? Is it Dec 15?

 

Oh wait, it's feb 21. Never mind.

 

yeah but Gasol TODAY is nothing near compared to Malone, Olajuwon, Yao etc. He's old and on the decline. I agree that it was dumb to sit Asik and Lin for the 4th but those are also coaching calls and McHale makes a lot of questionable decisions, I honestly think that is more a coaching fail than Morey telling them to sit because of an impending trade.

We also need to STOP with the constant turnover. Just acquired a bunch of new players and they need time to Gel. I promise there won't be any trade activitity untill close to the Feb. deadline if at all. They want to evaluate what they have. Asik has been solid game in and out except for the past few, but that might be excused due to having the flu and the broken nose. Lin clearly needs some help and maybe sitting him or playing him more with the second team will help him regain his shot/confidence whatever. He and Harden just aren't gelling as of now, not sure why.

Plus if Morey is going to trade for a big man PF, he'll be looking for a younger guy to sign long-term too. We just aren't contenders enough to have the luxury of trying out a Gasol for 2 years...that would set us back too far if it doesn't work out. Morey is looking at signing a Josh Smith, Milsap, Love eek type to a long-term contract, the way this team is constructed.

 

It shouldnt be a problem, Harden only plays on offense so if he played all 48 minutes it would till just be 24.....

this team is fighting to become iso ball.....that plays zero defense

 

I just find it annoying how I can't make one observation on a basketball game here in the GARM without a swarm of LOF's accusing me of being a hater. I just want to discuss the Rockets.

 

hahahaha..i hear ya. I want what's best for the Rockets and if it means figuring out what to do with Lin, then so be it. What LOF's don't get is that we WANT him to succeed but we aren't blind to his problems either and won't praise him when he isn't living up to the standards of his contract. Doesn't mean we want him to fail!!!

On a scale from 1 to 10 for all LOHs, you are a 3, slightly offensive but overall reasonable.

Rockets are the youngest team in the NBA did you really expect our players to play like were the best

 

It find some of the coaching calls to be real head-scratchers, but I'm sure there's a lot going on from a coaching perspective that I'm not aware of. I would love to hear some of the discussions between the coaching staff. It'd be awesome if coach was mic'd (sp?) like they do on some football broadcasts.

Harden doesnt play defense....this team is iso Harden more and more....and they are ranked like 29th in defense in the NBA....its not dumb...
