I know everybody is eventually going to blame this lackluster offense on JVG... but honestly, this team has already missed every single one of their wide open shots tonight.

These are shots that other teams routinely make at least 50% of... and the Rockets have trouble even making 25% of them.

    Yao is being benched.

Why can't yao pursue every freakin rebound instead of just watching the it clanck off the rim and somebody else grabbing it?

    Man that drives me Nuts!!!!!!!!

If your not shooting well, go after the freakin ball!!!!!!!!

    Help the team man!!!!!!

He shows more energy clapping and cheering on the bench than he shows playing the game.

    Just makes me sick sometimes.

Deke is a freaking man! I love it when he is in there. Too bad he and Yao never play at the same time.

Ming is not so bad as it looks. Ye, he misses rebounds, but some are not possible for him to get, not even guys like dampier.

Our D is in big trouble, and rox cannot hit wide open shots.

Yao needs 25 points and at least 10 rebounds for the Rockets to win this game.

    Prediction:

    Final Score

    Rockets 85
    Mavericks 81

Yao scored 11 points and grabbed 4 boards for us in the second quarter. Keep up the good work, big fella!

Someone needs to tell Yao to meet a goal of atleast 3 rebounds per quarter.

Agree. Yao is not in a good position to grab rebounds for a reason comparing to Deke. Yao is an offense option for rockets, so he normally pull defense out to let teammate shoot, and this means he need to rush back to get offensive rebound. Deke normally stay in the paint for rebounds, and I don't think Deke need much attention from defense 10 feet away from the basket.

Its not the coaching at this point... its not a single player (out of 4) who's a legit starting PF in this league.

As bad as the Rockets are at hitting wide open shots, the Mavs are as good at hitting.

This team just can't hit the ocean from the sand... whether they be wide open threes, 18 footers, 10 footers.... whatever.

That's not coaching... that's just pathtetic.

I've always been enamored with the Kings for the way they can produce shooters while I have always bemoaned the ability of the Rockets to produce brickers. I lobbied for Ray Allen to come to Houston, and he is now shooting 44% from 3 point land. The Sonics have the best record in the NBA, and Ray Allen is a very big reason why they are so good.

There is a seachange in the NBA. It's not the ability to muscle your way into layups and dunks that wins games. It's the ability to make a shot from all areas of the half-court. Seattle is the best in the NBA at making the 3 which means they are the best at half-court spacing in the NBA which means they have the best record. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure it out.

Exactly Charvo... which is why this isn't a coaching problem... these guys are getting wide open shots galore, with Yao and T-Mac finding them after being doubled, and not hitting them at all.

If they hit them, the offense doesn't look ugly at all... frankly, it looks more like the championship days because they double T-Mac and Yao EVERY SINGLE TIME... just like they used to do with Hakeem.

Why do they double EVERY SINGLE TIME... because they know that this team can't shoot.

If you can't shoot... I don't care who's coaching... you're not going to win PERIOD!
