Rockets averagely lose 124 pts for past 5 games.

Our biggest problem is terrible D!!!

 

The only thing I can think of is these dudes are just coasting on some “we got screwed in game 7” so we’ll be good enough to make the playoffs but eventually turn it on in the playoffs. And they’ve convinced Tillman and Morey that this is the way to go.

during one of the deadball breaks (either timeout or between quarters, i forget now) marc davis was walking thru our assorted court cheer flair of performers and actually shoved clutch the bear to the side in order to maintain his straight beeline path to wherever he was heading. this guy has major ego issues

Nah, I think the core guys who were there last year still feel sorry for themselves for coming so close last year and not making it, and that attitude is trickling down to the other guys on the team. My best guess anyway. Looks like they haven't snapped out of it.

8-4 with Harden and CP in the lineup. 1-7 with one of them out.

There is NO MARGIN FOR ERROR. To quote @Codman the team has not "#DecreasedTheDrop."

In the macro, the team needs to add a 3rd star to raise the ceiling on this team. That's a given.

In the micro, adding "competent and playable" bench rotation players at PG and 4/5 would mitigate the loss of Harden or CP for a handful of games.

CP & Nene will get injured. This is a GIVEN. The Rockets did not address this obvious reality and it is now biting them in the ass.

I love Morey. But this bench roster debacle is on him. That said, I believe he will fix it. But how much water will be taken in, by that time?

 

There wasnt much interest to play on Rockets last offseason despite the 65w & WCF game 7, you think that will change this season/offseason? I really doubt that anyone would like to join this mess right now.

 

Role, money, team culture all play a role for someone deciding to join a team. The team culture is still good. Players are not finger pointing.

That is why this current situation is not analogous to the Howard/Lawson season where there were cliques etc.

Rockets just dealing with injuries. They can bounce back like that did a couple of weeks ago. But need playable bodies.
