I agree with those that say Yao needs to be more aggressive when he has good position in the paint, even if one and a half defenders are on him; in the waning minutes of the game, he can't just reflexively pass the ball out to the 3-pont line every time he sees a double-team coming; he's got to assess the situation and go up strong, especially if he's four or five feet from the hooop, he's got to do the hook or just take it up strong and hope he gets an And 1 or two shots... It's a higher percentage situation than throwing the ball out to three point land, hit a cutter into the lane at least; and especially if Dirk is the one guarding him... YOu can't be unselfish if it's to the advantage of your team to be selfish (or at least self-actualized), you gotta do the duty...

Rocket need more time to correct its team arrangement, maybe the score is important, but we need a truly effective arrangement to face playoff,
    so I think:
firstly, coach should determine a routine arrangement and a way to win which fit to rocket in playoff. How to face a tough game?
secondly, we must look for others when we get a good key for win. My means is to practice the more bench player, such as STEVE, Scola, Brooks, and make them fit to play with Tmac and Yao. role players with different character can give us surprise in facing different enemy. The regular season isn’t so important that we lost our playoff.
At last, the fans must be hot but not too anxious. We support rocket forever, whenever win or failure.
Anytime we must remember ,the AIM is champion.

The heat check shots at the end of the 3rd quarter allowed the mavs to close the 17 point lead in the last minute of the 3rd to a 12 point lead going in to the 4th quarter. Those two bad shots he took helped the mavs get on their roll, then devin harris starting driving hard to the basket and it was all over from there.

TMac has a bad habit of taking those damned heat check shots and rarely do they go in, and against good teams(ie. Dallas, San Antonio, Phoenix) it gives them an opportunity to cut the lead. Rarely do you see Dallas or San Antonio take bad shots just b/c they have a lead, if they did their respective coaches would call timeout and would be yelling at the team for it.

Discipline is something TMac needs, he has never played on a winner and b/c of that he doesn't understand what it takes to be a winner.

Oh, and Yao, when you are on the block with Dirk trying to guard you, you back him down and shoot over him, you don't wait for the double team and pass it out to rafer alston!!!

You know what I REALLY ENJOYED about this game?

I really loved it when Jerry Crackhouse ran up the floor and dunked with like a second left, even though the game was already over. VERY professional move Jerry.

I was at my sister's house in Houston (unfortunately, I live in Dallas as some of you know), and you know what, I told my nephew midway through the 3rd quarter that the Rockets were going to blow it at home and lose. How said is that? I have little confidence in this team, and haven't for the last 4-5 years. They have no killer instinct. They just can't seem to close out opponents in the 4th, even with a lead. It's not just Dallas either, although I am literally nauseous each time Dallas beats us.

The Rockets choked. They froze up, and played not to lose rather than to win. Rather than step on the Mavs throats when they were up, they decided to take long perimeter shot after perimeter shot. Rafer Alston should never shoot the ball again. EVER. He took at least two, that I can remember, three pointers without burning much time off the shot clock in the 4th. He made a few shots, but he CANNOT make them in the clutch. If I am the coach, he never shoots again. I don't care if he gets it on a break with a clear path to the basket and there are no defenders there....he needs to pull back and give it to someone else.

At the end of the game, I was almost able to call each play to a "T." The Rockets were so predictable, and the Mavs just ate their lunch in the 4th. If the fans at home have the Rockets pegged, surely the opposition does too.

It's also very discouraging that the offense just stalls without McGrady in the game. If we are that heavily reliant on one guy and don't have a team that can step up their game when needed so it doesn't completely collpase when the star is out, you might as well call us the Lakers. Oh wait, they are better than us, so that's a compliment.

Anyway.......that's my rant. Ahhhhh...I feel better.

The Rockets are cursed. When one struggles with their shots, the whole team struggles. In this game, they should have driven to the basket. Tmac should just start at the point. We really need a stone cold shooter, and James or Bonzi aren't that guy. If Head can get his confidence up, he can take over a game and be clutch. He can make shots from anywhere, he just always passes when he has a good look. Since his rookie year, he's had glimpses of taking over a game. When the bench came back last year & almost won against the lakers, Luther hit some big shots. He's got it in him, he just needs that confidence.

Rockets's identity is "We let it slip away in the 4th" again !!! Maybe it's time we need the ghey azz "Be stronger longer" Mav's motto. :D That or rotating the damn players so Yao and Tmac don't run out of gas in 4th.

Amen. Well coached championship type players don't take such ill advised shots.

T-mac was saying he lost feeling on 2 fingers by the 4th quarter, then why the heck was he taking jumpers!?? Why not take it strong to the hole or let Yao take all the shots...

Thought I'd see if any Clutchfans are going to be at Live tonight. I'm in town, and figure I'd check it out. It'd be awesome to meet some other folks from the BBS.
