I dont expect to BLOW the Mavs out....I expect them to sustain a lead and win. They are all NBA players and with a lil heart the would be able to beat the Mavs....oh and better coaching too.

I am fustrated with Battier because as time goes we will be realizing we made a terrible trade. This trade is going to haunt us for long time.
He is a nice player but overrated overall. He is not consistent at all. Defensively people like him because he takes charges but if you look closely, he can not really stop anybody one on one like good defenders can do.

Another player overrrated and very liked in this board is Hayes. Again he is a nice player but everytime he is there, we have to play 4 on 5.

We won't be able to win with this personnel. I think we should try to package Battier with first round and some other players on the bench and try to get Artest.

This game was lost in the last 3 minutes of the 3rd quater. They were up 17 with Dirk on the bench and they had them on the ropes. Instead of extending or even maintaining the lead, they allowed the Mavs to make a run and cut it to 13 going into the 4th.

I'm not as down as most here. They played them tough and, like I said, had them nearly put away a couple of times and just couldn't make the play against probably the best team in the West right now.

Saying all that, guys better start stepping up on the perimeter when TMac sits or they need to go out and find someone else that can. The elite teams have a guy or two coming of the bench who can score, create and make their own shots and be a real offensive threat (Stackhouse, Terry, Manu, etc). All the Rockets have right now are either jump shooters (James, Head) or guys who can't do anything outside of 15 ft. (Bonzi, Steve). Without that, and the fact teams realize the other 4 Rockets can't figure out how to run an offense with Yao being fronted, and we could be seeing many a run against them with TMac on the bench.

No, I think that you are kidding yourself when you call this team - that has a new coach, a new offensive system and an all new bench rotation - a championship team. What I meant with the cupcake comment is that, when the schedule eases up, the Rockets will hopefully begin to work through some of their issues which should begin at the defensive end.

Totaly agree. I just couldn't understand why the coach put Lh+MJ together. When LH gets the ball, he doesn't know how to penetrate, how to shoot, or how to pass the ball to other players. He only knows how to waste time and make turnovers. Even we can't keep consistency in the whole game, I think we can at least stop creating turnover so quickly and so freqently by LH!

No idea why the coach still insists that other role players (especially LH) have better states than Steve!!!

When they got up 17 they thought they won the game already and started launching. Similarly, when they were up 2-0 against the Jazz last year, they got happy and thought they won the series. This team has no mental toughness.

If penetrating is what got you a 17 point lead, then it doesn't take a Rocket scientist to figure out how to keep the lead. Instead, we have a bunch of weak chuckers (McGrady and Alston), and turn over machines (Head, Yao).

Rockets Needs SF3 when Tmac is resting ,Rockets have so many guards, but on one can control the ball well. i think Steve can do it .

You chose the wrong game to be pissed off at those two, though. They were excellent this game. You think Yao and T-Mac single handedly built up those big leads in the first and third quarter? Well if so, you missed all the work Battier and Chuck were doing on the defensive end.

I think its time to talk about coach change. JVG is far better than Alderman. If not JVG Back, get a better coach. RA teams have never been good defensive teams, but good offensive teams, but he has always had very atheletic and great shooting teams as well. The Rockets are a half court team, expecially with Yao. The team is complaining that they are not focused on defense anymore, yet we cannot see the offense.

Any way you look at it Get rid of the coach while you can. We need our defensive stance again. I am beginning to think that TMAC cannot get us over the hump, he just cannot take the punishment of the NBA again at his age. where do we go from here

One thing is for sure this team looks nothing close to the Old Kings team. Our offense makes me want to scream. Maybe we should pay Webber a couple mil to come show us how to run it properly. At least that old fart can pass better than our guards.

With the exception of maybe Battier - who unfortunately is just a role player - I can totally agree with that!
