    I guess we will have to agree to disagree... because I did not regard Malone as a back to the basket type player either.

    boozer is not a center. but boozer prefers to play around the basket you have to admit that. so that's the best matchup since we have to keep yao around the basket for defensive and rebounding purposes.

    yao couldn't guard okur or boozer for 40 mins. that's why scola would have been huge. we would put hayes on boozer and scola guards okur.

    but let's look to the future.

    Hard to say which is our best PG. I hate to say it right now, but I think it is Alston (despite that last boneheaded foul of a 3 point shooter)

    First of all he's a lot quicker than Yao so he got him with his first step. Yao cannot quard Boozer or Okur either. He needs to guard a real center.

    unfortunately there are no real centers nowadays. we just have to hope we play a team w/ a sucky center so yao can focus on other things.

    That's why I was a strong advocate of playing zone last year, but even on defense JVG as single minded like he was on offense.

    Boozer does play near the basket, so did Malone and even Amare, but they get most of their points by facing the basket and running PNRs or cutting to the basket. That is certainly very different from how the Dream, Shaq, or even Yao plays.

    I agree though, Scola/Hayes will make a big difference this year.

    Did you see Adelman change the lineup in the 2nd half?? He had Mike James take over Tmac....the reason is that this lineup is very likely to happen when Tmac needs a quick rest. So he just want to see it more....
