ClutchFans Game Thread: Mavericks @ Rockets 1/4/2021

Wall/EG/Tate/Brown lineup led those comebacks. It's a fact. +/- literally tells the story.

 

I'M really sad this postgame. I hate losing to the Mavs...and Hardaway. I still haven't forgiven him for that Atlanta comeback.

I am sure he is. This is the type of game the Rockets need to win. The effort was poor to start the game. The Rockets fought back and then let it get away. Harden isn’t 100% and was bad in multiple ways, Wood wasn’t as good as his stat line... The Rockets didn’t rebound well and were inconsistent on defense... they took at least a step back tonight.
If the Rockets cannot defeat the Mavs, they aren’t going anywhere.

 

Idk man we just looked better switching everything. Playing drop coverage with Woods...is just...ugh.

 

Im sorry man but that makes no sense. Harden sits at halfcourt when someone else has the ball. He sure as hell wouldn‘t „rather spot up“. If he did, that would be amazing but for some odd reason he doesn’t do it.

He's torched us when he played on the Knicks too. I don't understand this at all. He really hates the Rockets.

Tucker is going to have to move more - also players going to ignore Harden when they want to push the pace... drives me crazy that they will stop a break to pass him the ball ... make him run

Rockets were still in this game even after playing whole game like shet with 5 mins left.

wood and PJ not great . Defensively , and wood missed a lot of 3

would like to see harden step into a few more 3’s . Few times he looked open and dribbled . Still getting into swing of things

upside still looks very high if we can get chemistry leveled up .

helps if we can make a 3 and the other team doesn’t have Tim Hardaway on it

 

I do believe the ideal backcourt mate for Harden is a good shooter. I think Wall is an upgrade to Westbrook but Wall still isn't a good enough shooter to keep the double teams off of Harden at times.

It's not a good look for Harden, but it does work a lot of the time.... so I can't really criticize it too much.

I just wish he had better support around him. I know Wood is looking good and scoring well.... but we have plenty of players in our team that just don't contribute on the scoring end on a consistent basis. Been that way for years.

 

I would want him on the Rockets but I feel like as soon as he does he's going to play like he usually does against every team that's NOT the Rockets. Unless he really just loves the Toyota center or something...like the anti-Ryan Anderson.

 

He got better at it.
