Looks as if Josh owns the Mavs. I like that he's not intimidated by Dirk's height, err his lack of defense really.

I noticed this too - as soon as he drove, I thought "ah crap, it's gonna be a charge!" and then he dished to Bev for the 3.

I actually thought at the start of the season the Rockets would be ok without JSmith, but his play making and vision in just these last 2 games have been lacking all year. His high PnR opens up the entire offense for this team. Last two games, they've hit 15 3's. I cant remember the last time they've made this many.

He's still going to take shots he has no business taking, but if it's bringing back some energy and swag back into the locker room - i'm all for it.

    More praise for Josh Smith:

I'm re-watching the game (I haven't done that a lot this season) with 2+ minutes, a 13 point lead and Rick C emptying his bench, Josh mith is yelling, "It ain't over yet!"

Now, I don't really know what he is talking about, but I would like to assume he is telling his teammates to finish hard.

    awesome.

Smith does things no one else on the team can do. I used to think that was a luxury, but this season has proven that he's a necessity.

Maybe it's because of the no system free style garbage basketball the coaching staff implements for the team. Where missed defensive assignments and offensive strategies are non-existent? Could that be it?

Yes, actually. Obviously, Josh Smith has no role on a disciplined team like the Spurs, but we are not that team. I'd like us to be, but don't have a Pop or a roster filled with smart players. But you know what? We made the WCF last year and they didn't, so there's more than one way to skin a cat. And if Smith helps us reach that level of success again I don't care whether we're a disciplined basketball team or not.
