Well, the truth is without Hakeem, Houston never will get a chance to win anything. From the owner to the GM, this team sucks right now

T-mac and Yao have been together for how long? Whom did the GM or whatever owner got for these two guys? Nearly all of them are failed experiement! You can count so many of them, none of them really worked except for JVG who has done an excellent job.

Well, you know what, the fans and the owner basically didn't like JVG even after he has won so many games out of so-so talent.

I have to say the fans and the owners deserve this! Rox won't win anything again as long as Les is the owner.

I love watching Yao play, but I honestly think without Francis & Mobley early his career, and T-Mac to carry him, Yao would be in a similar mold to Shareef Abdur-Raheem. Actually that's too harsh since Yao is capable of truly taking over, but the record of this team minus McGrady supports my claim pretty well. He's someone that can pad stats, and be the focal point of the offense with a bunch of stand still shooters, but just isn't franchise material. We overrate him so much.

BINGO!

JVG tends to have that effect on teams.

He masked our offensive ineptitude with stifling defense.

This is what we look like when we open things up.

We weren't ever going to win a championship with this roster.

I'm not saying trade Yao. Just, he's better suited under JVGs offense than Adelmans. Both Yao and Divac are slow as molasses on their transition on offense to defense, but the thing with Divac was he didn't need to the ball to be effective under Adelman. His stats were inflated when he put up good stats, whereas Yao really has to earn them almost every time the ball is dumped down to him, but he really does slow down the offense.

All I'm saying is, this offense isn't suited for Yao since if he's not dominating the ball, we're wasting away his talent. But if he isn't dominating the ball, the team is smoother on offense and less stagnant. It's a double edged sword. The thing I noticed in the Rockets 6-1 run at the start of the season was Yao wasn't commanding the ball so much til the last 3-4 minutes of the 4th where he came through in a clutch manner.

It's frustrating to watch because I do think Yao is gifted enough to where he should be dominating the ball at least 75% of the time, but the roster isn't suited to fit him. So either he has to adapt to getting less touches which I disagree with, or the roster needs to be shaken up, which means the off season acquisitions we've gotten have been a bad mesh.

Personally I think if this team is going to have pseudo success for the remainder of the regular season but probably falter again in the playoffs, than Yao is going to need to defer his touches a lot more like earlier in the season, but be the focus of the offense in the last 3-4 minutes of the 4th.
