Maybe the Rockets are patterning themselves after the Astros. Start off slow 2 seasons in a row before making a huge push late in the year and into the playoffs. Yeah I know, wishful thinking.
it's a start... I can see one problem...I think JVG actually overcoaches sometimes during live play and the players pauses to listen to him instead of reacting instinctively...he needs to let them sink or swim without him micromanaging during play late in the game...he can only drill so much in their heads in games and practices, if they don't get it, then they just don't get it...sometimes you can't turn water into wine no matter how many times you preach, yell, etc... Edit: Let me emphasize I still back JVG, but he needs to adapt to what's not working, cause it's frustrating to see him preaching and preaching and see the exact opposite on the floor. Also, TMac...PLEASE GET WELL, thank you.
i understand your frustration and i feel the same way...but if you are a true fan you would not believe that. stand by our team guys its 3 games into the season if theres one thing houston fans should have learned its that we should never give up on our teams. alot of you guys did last season and you saw how we turned that around. alot of fans turned their back on the astros and look what they did. lets stop being a bandwagon city and stick with our team no matter what.
And no excuses about chemistry. The Hornets have several new players who seemed to blend in quite well. Hornets and the Magic? At home? Pathetic. Disgraceful. Embarrassing. Damn.
so much negativity! it's only the third game of the season! rememeber how badly the rockets started last year? patience!
Shame on you guys, how do you expect the Rockets players to believe in themselves when their fans have long lost faith in them. Not having TMac is a huge blow. But it takes some time to learn to adjust. Look at the Suns and Miami last year. It's only been two (count it boys, ONE... TWO...) games w/o TMac. So suck it up and see how things roll pan out. Rome wasn't built overnight.
I wouldn't blame it on JVG. He really has nothing to work with. Our vets can't hit jack unless they're wide open and Yao still hasn't gotten over his habit of completely disappearing at times. JVG has nothing to work with. Really. Without TMac, the Rockets are nothing. Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised in Miami but I'd be satisfied if we don't get embarassed by a 30 point loss.
I bet you would never have said that before the season started. typical bandwagoner. i guess it is van gundy's fault that we cant hit wide open jump shots too right?
Positive (too much negative here): Skip has 9 assists, 7 rebounds, only 4 turnovers. Yao's field goal percentage (40%) is above average (for both teams). Head is gaining play time. Rockets' free throw is good 18/19. Turnover is not high (12) Come on guys, it's only the 3rd game of the season. We will be fine.
