I think GatorFan has a point there. A lot of Yao's fouls beside being BS calls by the refs, many of them are caused by Yao has no post defending buddy like an enforcer type that can help him out. You can't expect anyone to chase guards out in the perimeter than go back inside quick enough to get a rebound or rotate back to defend inside.

Even if it's a forearm bruise holding him out of last night and tonight's games, something doesn't seem right. Hopefully, this isn't a recurring theme throughout the regular season. So far, the rumors of Stromile missing games for very minor injuries that players normally play through seem legit. I guess he has an low pain threshold or extremely fragile.

its already been stated its a precautionary, if it was a regular season game he'd be playing.

so take it easy, i feel the anti-Swift groups coming....

I believe it is too early to comment for good or ill regarding stro's lack of playing time. However, for what it's worth, swift had a hard time getting comfortable in Memphis' system. That was a big reason why he missed playing time there. I remember Hubie talking about the fact he was a little slow catching on to it.

When Yao's man goes out high and sets a pick and the opposing guard goes around it, Yao has to show and help or they'll drive to the hoop everytime. Every big man in the league has to do what Yao does. When Yao sets a pick out high, his man comes out and shows a little to give his teammate who was picked off time to reset his defense on tmac. You can't ask Yao not to play help defense when his man picks off his teammate. Yao is just going to have to learn when to back off and when not to back off.

it's working for me too. First time I've listened to an NBA game online! How sweet! (I'm in Vermont) (one of the northeastern of these United States, you may have heard of it :D )... Only problem is they're Magic announcers...

I'll have to try the other links...

The refs need to swallow their whistles and let the teams play. Nearly 60 free throw attempts already and we're still in the third quarter.

Yao is playing much better in the second half, very aggressive on the boards. Tmac is just the old Tmac.

Howard is being exposed in front of D. Howard. This is the kind of game that Swift would have been a great help.

I have a feeling he will NOT catch on quick. The good thing is we have JH. At some point in the year SS may end up starting but I doubt it happens real soon. Seems like it takes players a while to adapt to JVG's expectations and there is no reason to think SS will be any different.

After 3 quarters, only Yao and Tmac on the Rockets team were able to make more than 1 field goal.

Yeah, the bus hit a pothole on the way to the game while Stromile was in the crapper taking a #2 and his forearm hit the toilet paper rack and the toilet paper rack bruised him up. He's out til next week.
