how in the world could we possibly lose it? orlando definitely isn't going to bring a lot of D in the 2nd half and apparently the entire team's jumper took the night off (it's funny hearing van say well you're gonna shoot 3 for 16 if you take jump shots considering orlando averages 100 ppg taking jump shots). if we somehow lose this van gundy better not leave the court with a job. honestly based on watching them this year i'd be surprised if the game every got closer than 12 again.
Man, Yao needs to hold himself for higher standards. Miss one shot and not go to the line in the fisrt half against Declercq is unacceptable.
b/c for some reason johnny davis is extremely stubborn on this point no matter how badly it works out for his team. johnny D gives me hope that i, too, can one day coach an nba team. you don't even have to make the D look competent and he's going to have been a coach at least two years once this year finishes.
THey started doubling him more...he's passing it out and reposting. They're just not fronting him like most teams do. Either they're too weak or too dumb or too slow
Of course not! Why would you pose such a ridiculous question?!?The Magic should double Yao immediately and foul him a lot too so he has a bad game. That way, you'll have more ammunition to use against all the YOFs.
Orlando's coaching staff has got to be the stupidest in the league. Either that or they are just extremely stubborn. Every other team in the NBA knows the book on Yao, front him with a smaller quicker player. The team was already burned last year by one of Yao's best efforts, and they continue to play the same defense on him.
Why don't we actually give the Rockets some credit for once for making the other team play a certain way. Hard to double a center when everyone else is either hitting the outside shot or driving in and creating passing lanes for open looks. Not to mention Yao is either hitting shots facing up to the basket or getting the ball in great position to shoot right away before help comes. With no TMac, there is NO WAY the Magic decided not to double or triple Yao. Again, lets give the Rockets and the players credit before chalking this all on how stupid the opposition is.
Its harder for them to Front Yao when there is so much movement, picking, backpicking, and ball movement in JVG brilliant offense.
There is a chance, though slight, that JVG has finally figured out how to use Yao, as he did with TMac.
