Clutchfans Game Thread: Lakers @ Rockets 9/8/2020 (Playoffs Round 2, Game 3)

The only team I can see beating the Lakers a series is the Clippers. I love the Rockets but looking at them objectively, I see them as the 3rd best team in the conference. It's going to be really difficult for them to beat either LA teams 4 times if each team is healthy and engaged. If Covington misses time, which is suspect he will, then you can pretty much go ahead and put a bow on this series.

Complete amateurs in the second half. Offense was complete trash. They showed not an ounce of heart, out hustled along with Rivers and McLemore combining for a big 0 points.

 

I think Harden and Westbrook played great, it's on our role players this time.

 

i cant believe that in 2020 Rajon rondo is owning us this bad. The guy is a baller, but i really though he was washed up by now.

 

Back to hating on Harden again?

He just had an efficient 33 points, with 9 assists, 9 rebounds, only 2 turnovers, whilst getting doubled-teamed.... and it's somehow his fault?

 

The game plan has always been Harden passing out the double. And whatever measures to ensure those passes aren't turned over. That offense is simple in nature, and potent, it's also predictable and easy to game plan against.

House is gone for just tonight or next one too? If RoCo concussion protocol does that mean he's missing another game? What is left to try.

this series is really coming down to whether or not eric gordon plays well.

 

It's not over but we are on life support Space. We scored 38 2nd half points ...TOTAL ! Scored 68 in 1st half. Game 2 collapse was a killer. 4th qtr. collapses continue. I'm beyond disappointed to see players not even moving following a swiped ball, pass the ball and don't move, walk the ball up every possession. There is much more to the loss but THIS sticks out most to me. If beating us is as simple as doubling harden, we are toast. And House and Chandler ? Holding a roster spot for Chandler is a farce ( we afraid of losing a cheerleader ?) and unless something with House surfaces..what a nookie ! Talk is cheap,, the real action happens on the court.

 

Lakers are a defensive juggernaut when they get locked in.

Beyond frustrating.

Im trying to stay positive but it's beyond difficult.

Every year- same result- fall short for one reason or another.

I hope we get the next game but it seems unlikely.

 

Harden and Westbrook played pretty well, but when they don't get much help from others..............we are in trouble

 

the energy was really bad in the 2nd half.

slowly getting into sets, not playing with pace. not playing with confidence.

that mentality is what separates contenders from pretenders.

plus big moments and big shots from the non-stars.

give it up to rondo. he had the game we needed from eric gordon tonight,

 

Lakers 2nd half defense was too much. WB is just too weak of a shooter against that defense.

I don't see how the Rockets win this series

 

Both game 2 and game 3. Lakers saved the double team on the 2nd half; start of 3rd quarter. They'll do it again.

What about all those counter moves; like the 4 or on 3. Or another ball hander to take the ball up before going to Harden.

 

Jesus christ yall blame westbrook for everything. Our defense wasnt good, thats why we lost. They got whatever they wanted inside and out for the most part.
