We lost composure and returned to the Rockets of the old with 2 min left in the game leading by 4.

Too many mistakes and too many silly fouls. Yao should have avoided the foul to stay in the game. Kobe had no succcess going against Yao inside but made two baskets going against Mo.

It seems to me that we lost the game mainly on missing too many 3s in the regular session.

And the only complaint I have on the ref is the weak 5th call on Shaq. Why wait until Yao made the basket and GP committed a 'and one' to call a foul that happened much earlier?

if we just score on that possesion after having a 4 point lead we would have won the bloody game.

the bs call on yao on the malone play killed us as well.
If Shaq did that play no call!!!!!!
the guy had 5 fouls and that bs small bump we get screwed on allowing the lakers a 3point play. such a joke.

thanks NBA we sure now know what teams u support

Again although TO is an issue, we really lost the game because we were 4-22 from the 3s. That just cannot get the work done.

tick-tack calls on Yao were the key to the outcome. They were not calling the same fouls on Shaq and Marlone.

    I hate marlone.

I'm sorry... but you're wrong in the fact that JJ's turnover was the biggest TO of the entire season.

A bucket there, or even more time off the clock, and you can't say how this game would turn out... but Francis' turnover pretty much prolonged the inevitible.

I just hate that once again SF3's great game-saving play will get forgotten by that TO, and the real mistakes that killed us (JJ's TO, lack of offensive rebounding by our big men, Yao's foul trouble) will get forgotten...

Love the glorification of Malone by ABC...

Tough loss, but I'm confident that they still pull this series out.

My only complaint is that Karl Malone should have been given a flagrant for his foul on Boki and then tossed after acting up again after Boki stuffed his shot. The guy gets away with murder.

And how many steps is Kobe allowed to take. Give me a break.

Rockets had this one, but two turnovers ended it for us.

Thankfully david stern got orders to the refs early enough or this would have been a 2-2 series. Steve's turnover wasn't the reason we lost. It was JJ's turnover that was the reason we lost the game. If he doesn't make that turnover we probably end up going back to a 4 point lead (or at worst we miss and the lakers have to come down and set up the offense again)

You're exactly right. Steve will take all the heat, but that was the killer.

Oh !… What can I say?
Rockets defeat themselves! It was a game for them to take.

Yet there are people who remain unconvinced that the Rockets need a real, NBA PG. I know we need a PF, and I'm ambivalent with respect to the keep SF3 / trade SF3 debate, but we need someone who can take care of the ball.

i couldn't believe al talking like we had one with a 4 point lead with 1:41 to go. gee, the lakers have never come back from that before.

of course, maybe he didn't think yao would get a horribly cheap 6th foul, jj would throw it right to kobe, francis would miss a free and turn it over, and then we'd not be able to come up with a rebound while we were only down 3. man, we get that rebound and we have a chance for a miracle 3 to keep on going. dammit.

i don't see how we'll have the emotion left to put up anything other than a cursory fight for about 2 quarters in LA before getting blown out.

    Just F'in brilliant.
Way to manage a 4 point lead in OT guys.
Just go ahead and piss away the series, boneheads.
The golf bags are at the door waiting for you.

Malone plays by the rule as he has been allowed so...

We should get all the highlights from him and let our big guys study and learn saving the more dangeous plays

    creating contact
    holding people down
taking people with you when falling.

I hate Karl Malone just as much as anyone, but you're wrong. Watch the replay, Francis ran into Karla which caused him to lose his balance and undercut Boki. It wasn't intentional.
