The reason he did that was because he didn't want the players to "gloat" on camera. Why? Because the playoffs are not about ONE game. They are about the long haul. And there is more work that needs to be done. So JVG does not want the players to loose focus saying something to Grey they will regret.

    We've heard it before...

"The fat lady has not sung yet!"

    Stay focused!

This was a very well played game. Fun to watch. Not much struggling at all.

Agreed! The Rockets were only up 4 and the Lakers had the momentum at that point. Yao took the team on his back and made the momentum buster. I honestly dont know how he made it. It looked like he took so much contact and just threw it up there.

Add that to both of Francis' drives late and we made 3 VERY difficult shots to put the game away. I guess the home cookin' helped!

    GREAT GAME!

It's all about learning how to win in the playoffs. The Rockets did that tonight. They didn't crumble when the Lakers made a run. They made smart passes, kept the turnovers relatively low, got the ball inside, and played great defense. What else could you ask? These are the things that they can take into game 4 and into next season. Way to go Rockets!

If anything, this game shows that we can be world-beaters. Keep the core, KEEP STEVIE!

And the guy who coined the phrases "bandwagon" and "fair-weather" rests safely in his grave... ;)

Steve has played HUGE the last two games... he almost had another triple-double tonight. (9 rebounds, 7 assists, 27 points).

One thing I noticed... the Lakers are a terrible road team. They don't neccessarily play bad, but they just don't play with anywhere close to the same tenacity that they do at home... and they rarely have CONTROLLED a road game all year.

How the hell did they forget about Shaq for the second and third quarters?

But, all in all, great game for the Rockets... already they've shown that this team still has room to grow, and WILL get better, provided they get the chance.

Steve did great, Yao did great except passing up 2 shots in the first half. Mobley would have been great had he not taken some really bad shots. Overall a great game for Rockets.

That's the first time I've enjoyed watching a Rockets game this much in many, many years.

Only 11 TO. Bad compare to 5 of Lakers but much better than the normal Rockets.

There will be bad games in the future but Francis is coming along.

Actually I like the way he mixed it up with some quick passes the minute 2nd defender comes to double team him. Jackson had a wide open look for that three after Yao's quick kick back.

The great contribution from Yao tonight was defense. Not only he altered numerous shots by Malone, Rush, and Kobe, but he played some UNBELIEVABLE defense on Shaq. In two of the sequence, Shaq tried to back him down to non-available, end up with some wild shots.

BTW, Yao was very active on the board as well.

Oh, what a dirty player Karla Malone is. I had some sympathy for him when he hurt his knee, but I'm taking all that back. The guy is the dirtest player in the league. He is out there trying to hurt people.

Steve's is getting it. Compare him to how Marbury's faring in his first intense/rivalry type playoff setting. Marbury is looking like Steve was during the regular season while Steve is becoming more composed and focused. Steve won't be traded. Gundy can't be that blind.

Well, they did get the ball to him in the fourth, but Yao played some tremendous defense on Shaq tonight. O'Neal couldn't back down him in several possessions, ended up with some wild shots.
