IN the middle of the 4th, the Rockets had a 10 point lead. The Rockets went away from Yao, without even switching to his side of the court, on 4 consecutive possessions. They failed to score on all of these possessions. The lead was cut to 2. Yao had decent possession on at least 2 possessions of those.

    THat's a disgrace.

As a Kings fan as well, I know that when ever you play Lakers, not only you have to fight and beat them, but you also have to fight the damm refs as well. They're the one that can decide who's winning the game when it's under pressure situation. THey're the one that call everything virtually in favor of those Fakers. That's how the Kings got robbed of a Championship 2 years ago. And to this date...the refs continue to kiss Lakers ass...as they have handed the Nuggets a lost this year that should have been the other way around.

last time we were crushing the lakers and shaq just wanted out of the game so he grabbed yao and took his seat. we took it straight at shaq twice and he fouled twice and they didn't call it. there was only about 1 minute left after we did it the second time. how many more times would you suggest we do it in the grand hope that we get a miracle foul out of the refs. honestly, do you think they were going to call the 6th foul if they didn't do it on the other two times? should you just keep missing shots while you're getting fouled just to see if you can get the call or should you actually try to score, especially when fouling out shaq would only buy you about 45 seconds of no shaq. there was no more we could do to get him out of the game. going at him more is just inviting another scoreless possession if you know how the nba works with the lakers.

and who was it that said we should've gone to yao when shaq was out during the 4th quarter? looking over the play-by-play, and from what i rememeber, shaq never left the game in the 4th. care for a retraction?

so the big problem rox has right now is the consistence. i remember jvg's comment on the loss to sonics. we have to stick our style no matter what happens. our style may not work sometime, but most time it's working. jvg has to do some brain-washing work to kick out anything from those player heads and pouring the half court style with yao as a center pointer.

This is what ESPN front page says about the Rockets after the game against the Lakers

Yao's numbers were better. Shaq's team was better. Few NBA games are better than the Lakers' 96-93 win on Wednesday. Despite the loss, Houston's playing better and could be a threat in the west - only if JVG decides to Free Yao!

"If you are up going into the fourth quarter and you score 22 but you give up 34, your problem is defensively," Houston coach Jeff Van Gundy said.

Huge disappointment. We could have won if it wasn't for the repeated iso's that mostly Francis ran.I'm not saying it's all his fault but there was hardly any ball movement with 6 or 7 minutes remaining. Mobley was hurting bad. I would have moved Francis to the 2 and let Mark Jackson run the point when the Lakers were making their run. I know Jackson wouldn't have stopped anyone but it could have resulted in scoring opportunties for Yao and also for the other players. Tonight I got the impression that Van Gundy lost control of the game from a winning position with a lot of time left. This isn't something I expected from him. I'm not asking him to be fired.
The guys must be really down and it's only going to get much tougher. We are by no means close to making to the playoffs.
Quick adjustments will have to be made especially on the offense end or else we will lose out again.

he forgot one thing. fouling shaq out is also a good strategy for defense against shaq.

I think yao and the rockets did a nice job of trying to foul out shaq, but the only way that was going to happen only if shaq killed someone.

    Memo to Steve Francis:

Welcome to the NBA. You may have heard of Derek Fisher. He's a known flopper. When a known flopper enters the game, it is generally wise to not give him as many flopping opportunities. For example, it wouldnt be a good idea to repeatedly push him with your off arm or elbow. He's been getting those calls for 4 years, I thought i'd let you know.

    Memo to Yao Ming:

When you are on an offensive tear, please try not to pick up a dumb 4th foul with 7-8 minutes left in the 3rd. Especially when your team is up by 15 points. For god's sake, just let him score in that position. Why were you even on him at that time anyway?

    Memo to all rockets:

You know Shaq is throwing up some major bricks at the line. Try boxing out and grabbing a frikkin rebound.

The point people were raising is in the middle of the 4th quarter, they walked away from a hot Yao. Yao was 3-3 early in the 4th, and suddenly he was ignored for at least 5 possions. Shaq had 3 fouls at that point, so Yao would definitely go to the FT line if Shaq fouled him. To me, the choice was pretty clear, go to Yao because he was almost automatic, and refs were not whistle-shy at that point. Instead, they jacked up contested jumpers and let lakers go on a 13-0 run.

Overall, SF had a not so bad game and I gave him the credit. But to say it wasn't stupid to walk away from Yao in that stretch only makes me think you are SOF's or Yao-haters. I know you are a big SF fan, but the critism is not directed at SF only, and the critism was not motivated by Yao-worshiping. I don't know why have such a big problem with it.

Waving your arms in the air do not equal to demanding the ball. Kick some ass actually will make a difference. Yao should jump all over our guards after every single 'freeze out.'

some people in here need an attitude adjustment, theres no need to be rude to other posters.

close game tough loss very entertaining game to watch.. I wish Yao could play like this everygame or shoot as many shots every game.

SF and the guards played a good game.. Cat was not having a good shooting game but oh well everyone has off nights. im please that the team played with heart and smarts most of the night and its too bad we seemed to lose our focus (going to Yao) and poise (turnovers) at the end.

I wish the guards would drive more (good things happen) and shoot outside shots less. Maybe drive and dish, take it to the rim, etc etc.. you'll be suprised at how many calls you get.

anyways good game for the most part, but we let the game get away from us at the end.

    J

lets get off the guards backs.. they played well for the most part
