Oh, they cannot. Everybody had 4 fouls except Francis and Cato. Lakers got points easy at the 4th but unless you want the whole team foul out.
Kobe's hands were dirty! He needs to quit doing this otherwise he will get in more suits, this time from opposing players in the league!
with all due respect, what the **** replay were you watching? if shaq's foot had just been on the floor and steve dribbled it off of it, that would be ok. hell, if shaq had just been sliding to get in front of steve (like shaq would ever move his feet on defense), that would even be ok. but he stuck his foot out to hit the ball. it would have had to be an amazingly coincidental muscle spasm that caused his foot to suddenly jab out in the direction of steve's dribble. both announcers, who as far as i know aren't huge rocket homers, both immediately said it was a kicked ball when they saw the replay. it wasn't really that ambiguous like either of the two situations i mentioned above.
And more bad news, realgm just said that Knicks hired Abdul-Jabbar. Why we have to got Patrick Ewing and they got Abdul Jabbar?
Good point.... I agree that foul trouble had a little to do with our defensive game plan. I was just tired of everybody in here complaining about how something that happens with 8 minutes left in the fourth quarter costs us a game. Sure it played a role in the final outcome, but so did the Refs calls, the plethora of Lakers' threes, Kobe's shot, etc. etc. etc.
Entertaining game, tough loss. I watched the entire second half. Didn't think that you could pin this loss on Francis or Cat, but I should've known better with you guys in here. Of course it was their fault we lost.
Bad point... Abdul-Jabbar has had "attitude" problems throughout his career and post-retirement. He's been outta the league almost 15-16 years, and he's still yet to get a REAL opportunity with any team. That should tell you something about him.
Francis 4 prez, Not how I saw it, Shaq was moving but it did not look like he stuck his foot out there and kicked it intentionally. It looked like he was moving and Steve dribbled it off his foot.....bad luck is what it looked like to me. Either way....it did not cost them the game. They quit going to Yao and the lead evaporated. Yao shoots 53% + and could not get the ball for most of the 4th quarter......THAT is what cost them the game. DD
Dude...I said it was bad luck...no malice on Steve, he was just dribbling away from his defender and got unlucky. DD
Guys, if the Rockets somehow take each game as seriously as they do against the Lakers, they would have won 40 games already at this point of the season.
Nah, just a test and a bunch of AAU and High school games. It was not bad money when I was younger $20-25 a game, same for football. I used to do like 4 bball games in one day and 6-7 football games....but Football was peewee 6-9 yr olds and 10-12 year olds. Good money but exhausting. DD
Just got back from the game. It was great fun, other than the last minute. The Rockets game experience is truly a lot more fun than in the past few years. All the funny, entertaining things that go on during time outs, keeps the game from dragging on. The "quick change" halftime show was amazing (I saw it last year, too). The Yao Chinese lesson is always funny. Tonite's phrase: "Not in my house."
I agree with the TV crew...reflex or not, a kick ball should have been called on Shaq. Clearly there was movement into Francis' path. In any case, I don't know if I can handle us GOING AWAY FROM WHATS WORKING in key points. Why the hell we did not put the ball in Yao's hands - particularly when O'Neal was one foul away from the bench - is getting extremely annoying. And the first time we finally did in crunch time, it was a godawful pass that no one could do anything with.
the problem is that's exactly what happened. when it happened in real time i didn't see what happened and thought francis just lost it, but shaq was fairly well planted to the ground as usual and just jabbed his right foot out there. like i said, if he had actually been sliding, that would've been one thing, but it was just a jab with the right foot the way guards do on the perimeter when guys try to feed the post with a bounce pass. his foot moved far to quick and out and up (instead of down to the ground to slide) for it to have been a mistake. he knew what he was doing, and probably just wanted to stop the play so he could get back down on D after the play reset, but he got lucky that the refs love the lakers.
Yeh right. Then Yao will take 21 shots and most of those are in first 3 quarters. Of cause a win. Won't take a rocket scientist to figure it out.
