Kobe will get his points...but who cares. If Battier and team defense can slow him down at all, we should be able to contain the rest of the team. We WILL get open looks at the basket....all about knocking em down. We have shot poorly the past few games...hopefully that will improve today.

It will be tough... The Lakers without Bynum and Gasol, we are without Yao and probably without Landry as well.

In my optimistic dream I can see us dominating the Lakers, with Bryant having an off night... similiar to the Mavs game. In my pesimistic nightmares I can see The Rockets playing exhausted, feeling like they have already pushed the streak as far as possible (with the 33 wins a distant impossibility) and nothing going right. The truth will probably be in between.

For us international viewers: does anyone know if there will be a quality link for us to watch? Too bad league pass ain`t showing this game...

The key is stopping the Lakers role players especially Derek Fisher....

If the Rockets can handle Fisher and Walton and Odom, they will win this game.

Kobe will get his 40, but Battier will make him take 30 shots to get there....

And the Rockets overall team play will win out.

    omg so excited..

I agree on watching out for Fisher and their other shooters. Once they go cold, Kobe will probably turn into a hog and shoot his team out of the game (hopefully)

Who's going to start instead of Gasol ? Turiaf ? And Radmanovic will start too (I like him but ... )Hahahah! It's the same Lakers team we faced at the start of the season but without Kwame Brown now. I don't think we'll lose this one.

if landry does not end up playing i think the biggest key to the game is for both scola and hayes to stay out of foul trouble.

    Where Defense versus Offense happens.

Today's game is a top defensive team versus a top offensive team.

Houston is a top defensive team. Defense rating says the Rockets are #2 but in reality they defend better than any team in this season. The Rockets like to find hard workers to surround Yao and T-Mac even though some of them are undersized and not athletic. Adelman is famous in offense but his team actually hasnt learned too much of his offensive system. The Rockets play hard and hustle.

On the other hand, LA is a top offensive team. LA is one of the top 3 offensive teams (the other 2s are the Suns and Jazz) when they have their big guys Bynum and Gasol. The Lakers have size and speed. They can out-score you and put up points in a hurry. Most of the Lakers have been played together for a few years. Their offense has better ball movements and player movements. The Lakers only play better defense in bursts, in some stretches, and in some games.

Defense vs Offense. This afternoon game is an exciting one indeed.

Wilbon said we are going to beat the Lakers and Celtics but loose to the Hornets? He said the Rockets are the best team in the west RIGHT NOW and thinks they have a shot in the playoffs..

Jon said we are the fourth best team and that our streak will come to an end this week..basically Jon i dont think beleives in us!

I cannot believe our trainers and medikill staff could not get Landry back on the frickin court after 10 days of rest now. 80% of the league is playing hurt at any given point in the season. Iverson is playing with a fractured bone right now. 80% of the posters on this board including myself would go and play pickup ball just for fun - sore knee or no sore knee. I cannot think of any instance this century that a Rockets player has come back from injury on time when anticipated, much less actually early.
